The project, which is tentatively titled Sarah Palins Alaska. Palin is asking for $1 million to $1.5 million per episode.
Sarah Palin is following a trajectory more Kardashian than politician, demanding a big paycheck in her quest for reality-TV stardom. After shopping her TV docudrama to major broadcast and cable networks, two channels A&E and Discovery have expressed interest in the project, which is tentatively titled Sarah Palins Alaska. Palin is asking for $1 million to $1.5 million per episode, considered a hefty amount for a first-year cable series. The show executive-produced by reality-television guru Marc Burnett will feature the former governor touring her home state, completing activities such as visiting fishing boats or trekking to a gold mine. There had better be a caribou-hunting episode or else this really has no business calling itself a Sarah Palin Alaska show.
She just made seven or eight figures on her book, makes six figures per speech, and is milking Fox News for big bucks. I think her finances are secure.
You can never have too much money to run for President... doncha know... :-)
On one of the most popular shows on TV, don't forget that part. That's why he can get millions per episode.
"Sarah Palin" and "Alaska" is what will make that one popular... and when they can do it for guys cutting down trees, guys driving trucks over ice, and guys fishing out on the ocean... heck! -- they'll certain do it for "Sarah Palin and Alaska"... :-)
Remember, this is the same man who said trees pollute more than cars (and if you’re counting hydrocarbon emissions, they do). Reagan spoke in whatever vernacular he expected his audience to understand.
Palin has left him. She is G-O-N-E.
No..., all this posting by you means, actually, is that we have more liberal-lefties on Free Republic than we realized before... LOL ...
Now that one really hurt his career didn’t it.... LOL ...
I challenge you yourself, by the way, to produce an equally erudite screed.
How many FReepers would be defending "Bill Clinton's Arkansas," and how many would be blasting it as the trashiest display in the history of American politics?
Ummmm..., sorry to tell you... but when you hear about people and Arkansas, it's always that they are "from Arkansas" -- no longer living there doncha know... (not very many will admit to still living there... ). LOL ...
[ ... yes I know there are a few FReepers, there ... who are looking for a way out... :-) ... ]
Zappa had her pegged!!!!
But that's not all he had, and that's the point. He finished two terms as governor of California. He had given careful thought to the issues of the day -- see the book Reagan in His Own Hand to see just how deeply he thought about things, and the scope of issues he could address.
It's not just a matter of saying things in a way people like -- any politician does that. It's the question of whether there's serious intellectual heft behind the words.
Palin might be able to get to Reagan's level in 10 years. She's not close to being there now.
Reagan did "Death Valley Days" after resigning halfway through his term as governor? I must have missed that part.
Ummmm..., "roadmap" doesn't mean looking for each footprint and putting yours inside the other person's imprint... doncha know... LOL ...
Is this a Palin bashfest here... I suppose I should have known better.
In the US (at least of old) you have to be rich to get into office. In banana republics (ditto) you are rich once you leave office.
Consider how much Mitt Romney blew without even making it in 2008. Sarah is wisely setting in supplies for the storm ahead.
Neither is starring in a movie called "Bedtime for Bonzo," but look how that turned out. ;-)
How quickly people forget Reagan... LOL ...
I'm a pretty good writer, actually, and quite capable of putting out a pretty erudite screed in my areas of expertise. But I'm not presuming to run for President; and I don't compare myself to Ronald Reagan, nor do I ask others to do so.
You, however, are on the Palin=Reagan bandwagon. The burden of proof is on you.
Its NOT a reality show.
Please! Never confuse a liberal-lefty with the facts... even if he's posting on Free Republic... LOL ...
How do you get serious intellectual heft behind “trees pollute more than cars” (and this is typical of what Reagan would tell reporters) which is not well exceeded by most of Sarah Palin’s announcements?
Yes, and he wasn’t being bankrupted by abusers of a loophole.
Its NOT a reality show.
The only nitwit around here is you, trollboy.
Also, better known as a "liberal-leftie-undercover-agent" ... :-)
You put those words in my mouth. I challenge you to show where any of this whiz-puzzleness of Reagan actually ended up in better policies than what Sarah is advocating now.
Sorry... first quote was someone else... I still haven’t gotten enough coffee yet... LOL ...
I just checked Banned’s accout since I thought - hmm, recent signup, hates Palin - yup, purple screen, Banned is indeed - banned.
