Citing two leaders of the group, the Times reported ACORN is suffering from "mismanagement along with a severe loss of government and membership funds."
The organization has been reeling since a secretly recorded YouTube.com video was disseminated last September showing ACORN workers giving advice on how to flout the law to two conservative activists who posed as a pimp and a prostitute.
Employees involved in the incidents in New York were fired from the organization but have been cleared of criminal prosecution.
Since September, at least half of ACORN's 30 chapters have disbanded, the Times said. The group's large New York and California chapters have set up fresh organizations.
Congress voted by wide margins to prohibit the federal government from funding ACORN and the Census Bureau ended its partnership with the group.

I sure their “casual acquaintance” Obama will “deem” them a couple of hundred million from his private “stimulus” slush fund.
God Bless those heroic “conservative activists”, otherwise known as true journalists doing what the “pros” at Reuters were too corrupt to do.
There are thousands of younger versions of Zero gaining their own valuable executive experience in race-baiting, grievance-grifting and law-skirting.
Obama will simply cut another piece from the white devils’ pies to ensure their continued existence as a festering boil on America’s backside.
This is such incredibly encouraging news I can hardly believe it.
In a sense I don’t blame them. I believe it was P.T. Barnum who said, “there’s a sucker born every minute.” He was right. the race-baiters and grievance-grifters get away with their trade because we have libs who are suckers and a whole lot of people in the middle who simply don’t want trouble (from either the race-baiters or the aforementioned libs). As long as we don’t have the stones to say, “we’re going to have a COMPLETELY color-blind society” and STICK to it when the “diversity” howls about needing special privileges, this will never, ever end.
I said it on day one: OBAMA IS THE REPARATIONS PRESIDENT. The sad thing is, it’s only possible because we’ve been humoring the Dems and their supporters for too long. EVERYTHING the Dems have done since 1963 has been about “reparations” — because “whitey” will never stop owing the poor black folks. Ever.
Suckers.
At least, not until enough people have the stones to say, “’eff you in the eye. We don’t give a damn if you’re black; carry your water like everyone else.”
Well, there’s a small smile amidst the infuriating news.
I literally hate Pelosi, Reid, Clyburn, Hoyer, and most especially Obama.
It’s good news, just don’t think these rats won’t be back in the game under different names before long, with their snouts right back in the gov’t trough.
No problem. They will soon be back at the tits of congress...

Good.
Why? They may be going bankrupt, and yet still take in new funds from the government.
Look at GM, Chrysler, Big Banks, Wall Street.
