This could be very big. Rep. Jason Altmire (D., Penn.) has done his darndest to position himself as the deciding vote on health-care reform, and I predicted earlier this week that he would end up voting with the majority either way.
Congressman Jason Altmire will vote against the latest version of health care reform when the U.S. House of Representatives votes on the bill this weekend.
Altmire confirmed that he has decided to vote no in a telephone conversation with KDKA political editor Jon Delano.
The McCandless Democrat is expected to post a statement on his website later today.
In a live interview on KDKA-TV News at 6 on Tuesday, Altmire said his constituents would help him make the final decision.
"I'm deciding it by doing everything I possibly can to hear what they have to say," he said. "The rallies at my office, the phone calls, emails, and letters that are coming in to Washington and in the district."
Altmire voted against the House health care plan last November.
But again, who knows!
Agreed. Pelosi sqeaks this out with 217-214 margin.
I wanted to SMACK her through the TV...what a self-righteous b###h.
Thanks!
Well I know for one thing, her healthcare plan does not include dental, see that set of rotten choppers on her. Please Sister stop with the Jesus thing, you're no follower of Christ. Light and Dark cannot dwell in the same place and you have chosen sister, false piety and titles won't protect you.
John Delano is a pretty credible local source, so I believe it. Altmire was under tremendous pressure. The bad news is that I’m sure Queen Nancy gave her permission first.
March 19 - U.S. Senator Orrin Hatch, a Utah Republican, said Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives are nuts to think that Sundays vote on health-care legislation will resolve the issue.

Wow. I actually agree with Orrin Hatch about something?
This is just a sham to help him keep his job come November. They have the votes. Otherwise they wouldn’t be voting. It’s a done deal.
It could break either way.
Attaboy AND follow up...that’s why I included his contact info...Trust but Verify...
Baron Hill (Ind.) Told the Los Angeles Times he is leaning yes, noting the new CBO numbers.
FAKED numbers, as we now know, to give liars like this guy cover.
Sounds like a man interested in keeping his job
After-Action Report:
At 2:25pm on March 19, 2010, I visited the district offices of Jason Altmire (D-PA) in Aliquippa, PA; and expressed my support of his pro-life stand. I let his staff member know that Sunday’s vote on the Reconciliation Bill would be the biggest vote on abortion that he would ever cast in his career; and that I expected him to vote accordingly, and would hold him to it. My time and donations would be going to his opponent the November if he failed to maintain the stand that he ran on. Conversely, if he cast the deciding vote against the bill and the legislation failed, that he would have my vote “for life” (pun intended).
The staff member politely noted my name and that I was in his district and that I had traveled from Gibsonia to make my views known to the Congressman.
Maybe, but
The conventional wisdom says they get to go their way after it’s in the bag...this time I’m not so sure.
WOOHOO...(hope it stays a NO). He is probably being offered a swiss bank account filled with cash right about now(with our tax dollars of course...lol).
Thanks for the good news ping.
