I am ready for the first state to call for a constitutional convention, I hope it is Texas.

Great, now all we need is a legislature that will impeach this guy. November can’t come soon enough for me.

I don’t think he needs to dismantle congress or anything. He is destroying us as we watch with their help.

It just doesn’t compute for me,,legislation being passed by sleights of hand that the people do not want. I never saw anything like this in my life.

House rats are having a closed-door meeting this weekend. Maybe this poll thread is the right place to ax a question.

What's on the agenda?

Again, that's a question, not a statement. Are they gonna be brainstorming how to get their "healthcare" thing done, or are they gonna be discussing uh, something else?

One would hope that even a rat would see that we're well into cult of personality territory and would also see the need to do something about it. OTOH, past behavior shows that rats only care about themselves and getting that appointment to the next ObamaCzar position or whatever.

So... what's up with the closed-door meeting?

Obviously that spike in late February was an anomaly.

No those were the series of days when it looked like Obamacare was going to be stopped. Look at when he bounced up. After the Scott Brown win and before the State of the Union when everyone thought he was going to pivot. Then he dropped down again as they discussed reconciliation. Then when it looked like that wasn't going to work because the senate wouldn't let them pass their bill until the Senate bill was signed he bounced up for a few days. Now that it looks like Obamacare passage is imminent his numbers are at an all time low.

The is Obamacare and if the dems pass it we need to make sure that they take the full heat for doing so.

The socialists fall into a couple of categories, Fabian socialists who want our country to evolve into socialism, and revolutionary (Che type) socialists.

Fabians are mad because he’s a revolutionary socialist, spoiling their plans and awakening the American people.
And the “Ches” are mad because he can’t effectively pull off the revolution.

The real number is 45A/55D

Hes been as low as 43A a week or so ago. If he manages to fall below that this week, it will make the Democrats “aye” votes on HCR all that much harder.

“I still believe that he wil eventually dismantle Congress and abolish the Supreme Court. Then no one can stand in his way to absolute power.”

I don;t how it all happens, but there will be blood in the streets before that happens. I’m not making threats, but we are inching close to the tipping point.

I’m deeply touched by this endorsement of the American people.
This coupled with beautiful sunshine here in NYC makes for a splendid day.

On to Washington to kick some butt tomorrow.

I still believe that he wil eventually dismantle Congress and abolish the Supreme Court. Then no one can stand in his way to absolute power.

Well there are a few thousand heavily armed members of the military who swear an oath to the constitution not the president, to defend the nation against all enemies, Foreign and Domestic. An overt takeover, especially with the majority of people opposed to him, is unlikely

When Obama makes his play it will be much more subtle. He will model his takeover after Chavez, not Castro. He won't abolish the congress, he will simply render it impotent and harmless. All legislation will start in the white house and simply be "Deemed Passed". There will still be the charade of the legislative branch, but it have all the impact of voting for your favorite cartoon character on Cartoon Network.

Likewise the SCOTUS is only one vote from complete liberal control. Accidents have been known to happen in Chicago politics. A key participant in the Blago scandal was recently found floating in the Chicago River right after he accepted a deal to cooperate with the feds.

Two thoughts:

1.) By my reading of these numbers over the past year, the numbers “harden” at key junctures like this. By that I mean that people feel the need to express their views more fervently. For responders on the margin, “Approve” becomes “Strongly Approve” and “Disapprove” becomes “Strongly Disapprove.” What is significant to me in today’s numbers is NOT that they generate a -21. It is that strongly approve is almost exactly half of overall approve. That’s as low as it’s ever been. Even Obama’s dwindling base support is tepid. His people should be scared out of their minds at the huge, huge, huge gamble that the Dems are taking here.

2.) Intrade gives this bill a 70% chance of passing. But this is not like the stock market that it purports to be, because there is a feedback loop that is being almost entirely neglected. And this means that the chances of passage are actually well below what Intrade suggests. The reason I say this is that the only chance that Pelosi has of keeping her very fragile voting bloc together is to create the sense that it is a lock to pass. Otherwise her people will dessert at the last moment like rats off of a sinking ship. 70% is about as low, I think, as this probability can be and still give Pelosi and her ilk reason for optimism. And unless the number rises from here on forward, I predict that it will instead drop like a rock at the end. She needs to create a veneer of invincibility and inevitability. 70% doesn’t quite get her there.

Bottom line: Despite the rise on Intrade, I am sensing that ObamaCare is starting to smell, like ground beef that’s been left on the kitchen sink for a few days. I spend too much time trolling the Internet, but the upside is that I feel like I have a better sense of the gestalt of things and the emerging trends than anyone else I know. I sense that this thing is going to reach its zenith in the next 12 hours and then come crashing down before dawn on Saturday. It will be over at least a day or two before the scheduled vote.
