Hundreds of powerful US bunker-buster bombs are being shipped from California to the British island of Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean in preparation for a possible attack on Iran.
The Sunday Herald can reveal that the US government signed a contract in January to transport 10 ammunition containers to the island. According to a cargo manifest from the US navy, this included 387 Blu bombs used for blasting hardened or underground structures.
Experts say that they are being put in place for an assault on Irans controversial nuclear facilities. There has long been speculation that the US military is preparing for such an attack, should diplomacy fail to persuade Iran not to make nuclear weapons.
Although Diego Garcia is part of the British Indian Ocean Territory, it is used by the US as a military base under an agreement made in 1971. The agreement led to 2,000 native islanders being forcibly evicted to the Seychelles and Mauritius.

The USAF must be setting up for airstrikes on Iranian nuke facilities at Diego Garcia.
Look out Iran! Here come the Spirits!
Whoa! Do remember Obama is in charge now. They're probably destined for Israel.
April surprise?
That was my first thought, too...and I’m not joking. I read this evening (granted, it was Debka) that Bambi wants to establish a “US missile shield” for the Palis.
When he was elected, I thought Obama would be would be worse than Clinton, but better than Carter. Well, how could anyone be worse than Carter? Oh, was I wrong. Carter ought to thank God every day for Obama because no one remembers “second worst.”
In charge as a globalist elite frontman. Who do you think he receives his orders from?
World War III is being planned to be staged in the Middle East.
The Blu-110 and Blu-117 bombs are older generation bombs typically used by the navy which contain a thermally insensitive explosive designed to reduce the chance of "cook offs" in a fire.
Neither bombs penetrate very deep and deep penetration is what is required for taking out the hardened, deeply buried Iranian facilities.
That World Tribune article is interesting but cited unnamed officials. I suspect if genuine, a paper like the Times UK, Telegraph or Jerusalem Post would be running it.
The Iranians would most likely have built their bunkers to a degree of thickness requiring a second MOP to be dropped. One to blow through the thick concrete and earth, the other to blow out the interior.
And each target must be destroyed in a SINGLE HIT, and that's it. Repeating strike after strike on a single target would be wasteful of fuel and munitions, and give the Iranians time to move antiaircraft defenses around their other nuke facilities.
