how? Yeas and nays? or Slaughterhouse Rules?
Not believing anything till I see the final vote.
Of course it will pass. These are the people who steal elections even while the cameras are turned on them. They know the media will cover for them. Like Charles said, the media hasn’t said a word to their audiences about the student loan provision being used to cover up more deficit spending.
I was thinking about joining a bus trip headed to Washington Saturday. But I think the votes will be secured by then.
To hear Krauthammer say it with that resigned tone was disheartening.
I still think God hasn’t had his say yet, though...miracles do happen.
Reports vary, however.
That's the key. Regardless, there's no reason to slow down now, with just three days left. Fight on!
Don’t get discouraged. Its not over till its over. Everything is so close now that any small thing could swing the balance.
If it passes I hope it is slaughter rules, so we can get it tossed in court.
After seeing 2 more yays converted to nays and Eric Cantor firing a shot across the bow of the U.S.S. Bribery today, I just don’t see it happening very easily.
However, defeat will weaken Zero and perhaps this congress may not want that, but they would be throwing themselves on the sacrificial altar.
The Slaughter Rule is out. This was nothing more than a trial balloon. It’s too risky. I say they don’t use it.
It’s close, but I still have faith.
I saw that too. Steve Hayes said it will pass with “one vote,” Mara simply said “yes” it will pass and Krauthammer said it will pass because the tally is so close. Mara did say she has never seen such anger toward “special deals” (Corn Husker Kickback, Louisiana Purchase, Kent Conrad’s new payoff) to get votes, she was shocked.
There are MANY things that can swing this our way before the vote. Many things.
I don’t think we can wait until November. Something needs to happen before that. What that will be, I won’t say. But something needs to.
I’m sure it will become law. But that doesn’t mean it passed anything. Passing a bill is no longer required. Gonna’ have to change the song:
“I’m just a bill , I’m just a bill.
I’m deemed a law on capitol hill.”
I sincerely hope you’re right, I really do.
Anything Krauthammer says lately (or for the last nine months) has been sour, depressing, and so wonkish that I have lost all respect for him. He has lived in DC for waaaayyy too long. Everything on the panel lately is about “the process.” It’s all about Pelosi, Reid, Obama, Hoyer. CK needs to flat out retire. He does our side no good.

Did you see this video with Rep. Steve King from Iowa?
Wait a minute. Where is the public option? We were told it was all a trick to get in the public option, the government takeover of healthcare!

Funny, when all the liberal blogs panicked about no public option months ago, they posted items from Limbaugh and such that there really was going to be a switcheroo at the end.
Rush may have helped get this bill past. The liberals are emotionally deflated and stunned.
Ok I am real confused -
Assuming the House passes the bill using the so called Slaughter rule and assorted amendments - but then the passage of these “House amendments” fails in the Senate -
...does the “orginal” senate bill (minus House amendments) automatically become law once signed by obama?
