Whip count down to 190 yes 206 no
Firedoglake ^ | 03/16/10 | Davie Dayen

The leadership says they have the votes, but projecting an aura of confidence has been a key to their pressure strategy. Bart Stupak says Democrats are 16 votes short, but pessimism has been, well, part of his strategy. So I prefer to actually, you know, count the votes.

That’s news I hadn’t heard. I heard on the radio today that La Raza had come out in opposition to this bill.

Wrong about what? What Pelosi going that lousy Slaughter route, she all but telling us that. There is not a chance in hel* she is going to have a big ‘L’ hung on her. I think this route though appearing as a victory is a pyrrhic one, Armageddon at the ballot box and Pelosi being out of power

Any dem who votes no is going down in November because of dem anger and if they vote yes, they will go down from Republican and Independent voters,so no win for them. They will pass it and we can only hope for some judicial intervention.

This is why they’re going the “deemed” route.

GOOD POINT! They are trying to make it seem inevitable.

Don’t fall for the psy ops! Bush didn’t fold when Florida went for Gore (for about an hour), and we shouldn’t either.

Thanks for the message!

You could be wrong about your thinking and this could simply go down in flames.

“Any dem who votes no is going down in November because of dem anger...”

I do not agree with you on this - there are many on the dem voting side who do not want this health bill. And there are many independent voters in these districts who will vote for the dem who votes no on the bill. Most of the others (dems) will vote for him because they will always vote for the dem.

There may be some dems in marginal districts who came in on Obama’s coattails. They will go down whether they vote ‘yes’ or ‘no’, unless they can convince the voters that they really are not left wing f’ the country types.

Well we are singing from the same song book, I would love to see it go down. I am praying on it. These Democrat Congressmen, beyond dumb, all these pie crust promises and bribes of cushy gubbmint jobs are lies, when the landslide happens all these Ambasadorships and other jobs go poof. “What do you mean Rahm won’t call me back, he promised me....I have this Department of Justice guy calling me.........”

This is from a 2007 contact list of congressional aides. Some might not be there any longer, but worth a try. The ones on the one post are senate aides, a few have bounced back, it’s worth the effort to clog up their email system along with the phones, and 1/3rd of these senators are up for re-election.

Mail must be inspected for anthrax.

Contact congressional aides.

Remember they are all being offered BRIBES for their votes. Ask them how much their bribe price is.
The National Republican Congressional Committee has published a target list on health care. In addition to continuing to contact the five Tennessee Democrat Congressmen, you can go http://www.votervoice.net/link/clickthrough/ext/94697.aspx to contact some of these targets. Much of the talk following Obama’s announcement has focused on how to defeat this second bill through reconciliation, but that is misleading because the first step to defeating Obamacare is not by concentrating on defeating the “fixer” bill but by defeating the Senate bill in the House when it goes to the floor for an up-or-down vote on Thursday, March 18th.

And here are toll-free numbers we can use to call any Senators or Reps.

At the first number below you must wait through a tape recording urging you to tell your Rep or Senator to vote “yes” for the health care bill. Just hang on and when the recording is over, you will get the Capitol operator. Just ask for your Rep or Senator’s office. Then you will either talk to an aid or have the chance to leave a message for him/her to vote NO on the health care bill.

When you use the second number and the Capitol operator comes on, just ask for your Rep or Senator’s office. Every time I use this number I get the Rep or Senator’s answer machine, so it may be set up that way all the time...to go to their answer machine. Either way you can leave a message to vote NO on the health care bill!

We need to use these toll free numbers that have been set up for the health care/ BO supporters and illegals to use! After all they are FREE!
