The leadership says they have the votes, but projecting an aura of confidence has been a key to their pressure strategy. Bart Stupak says Democrats are 16 votes short, but pessimism has been, well, part of his strategy. So I prefer to actually, you know, count the votes.

Greta Van Susteren on her blog calls it 211 yays, 220 nays. That accounts for all 431 votes, just as your numbers do.

I like you attitude! Too many times threads get hijacked by the usual suspects, emoting and whining, projecting some of their own fear, cowardice and hopelessness onto the rest of us. It’s cathartic I guess. Ok back to the topic at hand, I really think Pelosi is going to go Slaughter, sneaking little female dog she is. Obama will claim victory and proclaim this national conversation settled in a nationwide address. His numbers will shoot up into the 50s. These will be tough times and we need to keep fighting.
Greta is also one who is pretty conservative. If she is posting this we’ll take it.

Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-IL) announced today he is now voting yes, contrary to his earlier threats to vote no. This means, according to Greta’s numbers, that the count is now 212 yes and 219 no.
Fox is intentionally spreading panic to drive up ratings.
No one has that count but them.
Greta’s column was posted at 3:30 or so. That was hours ago.
