Thursday, March 18, 2010 The CBO Score, As Reported by Steny Hoyer
House Budget Committee Ranking Republican Paul Ryan responds to an NRO query about the news this morning: The Congressional Budget Office has confirmed that there is currently no official cost estimate.
Yet House Democrats are touting to the press and spinning for partisan gain numbers that have not been released and are impossible to confirm.
Rep. James Clyburn stated he was 'giddy' about these unsubstantiated numbers. This is the latest outrageous exploitation by the Majority in this case abusing the confidentiality of the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office to pass their massive health care overhaul at any cost.
This CBO reporting this morning really is remarkable to me the news is simply what Steny Hoyer says it is.

I hope all the ones on the earlier thread that are considering throwing in the towel see this. It ain’t over...
WE’RE JUST GETTIN’ WARMED UP!

Wow
The damn CBO numbers weren’t going to affect my attitude anyway. I thought the holdup on this legislation was the abortion language, not the cost. We already knew they would keep it under a trillion somehow. This is just another attempt to release news to try and gain momentum.
WOW!!
How utterly ‘soviet’ of the dems and the media to pull a stunt like this.

CBO Reports In [Kathryn Jean Lopez]
Via Politico:
The Congressional Budget Office has determined that the health reform plan will cost $940 billion over 10 years, but will trim the federal deficit by $130 billion in the first ten years and $1.2 trillion in the second ten years, House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer said.
The brief report adds:
Those deficit numbers should help ease the worries of deficit hawks on the fence about supporting the bill.
House GOP sources are not too surprised. Some raise this question though: Why is the whole report not being released? As I understand it, we’re only seeing selected points from the scoring, not the whole report. So there appears to be some confusion about what exactly is being counted.

Fox News is still reporting the 940 billion number as if it were the official CBO number.
Somebody should inform Fox of this, FAST!
Never mind- the CBO is about to publish it online within 2 hours per Major Garret...so- it’s likely Hoyer has the figures the CBO will be putting out..
They don't have the votes.
I need to learn how to “deem”.... if you imagine it, then it’s reality.... But this ain’t Disneyland folks.....
Hoyer sent out phony figures to confuse everyone because the CBO figures are different.
OH MY GOD! This is like 1984!
Continuous, oozing propaganda - and you can't turn it off!
But not.

hmmm...It’s getting stranger and stranger. Will it be the entire report or just ‘selected parts’ by the democrat politburo?
Bottom line..it’s not going to matter what the CBO says. The American people don’t want this bill.
So...do these numbers include the unstudied "stipulation" that $500 billion will fall out of the sky from supposed "Medicare Savings?"
And just why have Democrats NOT asked for a CBO study of THAT?

‘Congressional Budget Office has confirmed that there is currently no official cost estimate’...
Any valid assessments cannot be made until its really out ...That gives them a pretty small window to blow their horns

Do we have a link to H.R. 4872 yet? Has it really been released?
What does ‘in the nature of’ mean? Sounds like leftist gobblygook to me....lol.
