CBO Reports In [Kathryn Jean Lopez]
Via Politico:
The Congressional Budget Office has determined that the health reform plan will cost $940 billion over 10 years, but will trim the federal deficit by $130 billion in the first ten years and $1.2 trillion in the second ten years, House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer said.
The brief report adds:
Those deficit numbers should help ease the worries of deficit hawks on the fence about supporting the bill.
House GOP sources are not too surprised. Some raise this question though: Why is the whole report not being released? As I understand it, we’re only seeing selected points from the scoring, not the whole report. So there appears to be some confusion about what exactly is being counted.

So...do these numbers include the unstudied "stipulation" that $500 billion will fall out of the sky from supposed "Medicare Savings?"
And just why have Democrats NOT asked for a CBO study of THAT?
