Don’t do the crime if you can’t do the time......But there are probably worse things inmates can do to you bernie so be thankfull you only got a bloody nose......
He was a fool for lending him money.

DURHAM, NC -- A source tells ABC11 Eyewitness News that disgraced financier Bernie Madoff is being treated for serious injuries after he fell out of his prison bed. Now, the source says Madoff was not attacked in prison, but that he fell off a bed onto his face. The source said there was a lot of facial bleeding.

According to the sources, Madoff came to Duke with facial fractures, broken ribs and a collapsed lung.

Uh, guys...we don’t sentence people to prison so they can be beaten up and sexually assaulted...these jokes aren’t so funny.
I know it’s not funny, but at least the Ponzi scheme con artist gets some attention once in a while.

You know, I think you are right. Prison can be heaven for some, hell for others. May I suggest getting rid of prisons and in their place use the following punishments (depending on the nature and severity of the crime):
1) Fines
2) Up to three days in the public stocks (think of the Pilgrams)
3) Public flogging
4) Permanent exile
5) Public execution
For petty crimes like shoplifting, make the perp stand on a busy street holding a sign saying "I am a shoplifter. I steal from YOU for fun and profit."
Just a suggestion. Prisons breed more crime. They serve as recruiting centers for militant Islam, gangs of all races, and as learning centers for professional criminals. We should definitely get rid of all prisons and use the old fashioned penalties. They work.
Interesting ideas, all, and I agree that the prison system in America is a disgrace and must be reformed. Here’s my idea:
Take all the violent offenders, all at once, and send them to some remote spot in, say, Alaska, say, 100 miles or so from the nearest civilization. Then make them BUILD their prison, GROW their own food, MAKE their own clothes, etc. etc. Mandate the death penalty for attempted escape. What do you think?

you haven't been to a prison or taken care of convicts. The prisoner with the " heart of gold ,Mogan Freeman/ shawshank redemption" cr#p doesn't exist. By the time you get a state or federal prison sentence you " deserve" a lot more than a good beat down or hokey-pokey.
madoff is lucky and so is his wife that he didn't rip off somebody with real muscle.
