They were supposed to be taking a direct flight from LAX to JFK -- but wound up on a 16-hour nightmare tour by air and bus of New York state. ...

"One guy said he had a question, and the flight attendant started shouting at this guy, 'You are really getting on my freaking nerves! You need to shut the hell up!' " Martin said.

He added, "Carrie Anne and I tried to bring cookies on the plane to the mothers with babies, and the flight attendants started snapping at us." ...

Diverting is not the same as an emergency landing.

Just wondering. Have you ever heard those words, "35 gusting to 60," while you're hoping to see the runway as you descend on the glideslope, even at your intended landing site?

Sorry, but there is no excuse for forcing passengers to stay on a plane on a tarmac for seven hours, then not having enough snacks or even water. And snapping at the passengers is not a great way to boost morale and bring the customers back next time.

Yes I agree....we have too many Corporate Socialists/Business Socialists on here who defend the worst business and their practices no matter what they do.

Had this been some other type of business that treated customers this way....the business would have been sued for breach of contract...and forced to close within days.

Deregulation is not the problem....the airline industry has so many special laws that protect them from a lot of the punishment (ie breach of contract lawsuits) that most other businesses would have in this situation. Remember, also, that the US government bailed out the airlines after 9/11 from liability suits......now that is SOCIALISM!!!

If you made the airline industry follow the same rules and laws that every other business follows....you would not have these abuses of customers. The corporate socialism keeps these big failing airlines in business....while preventing upstart smaller airlines from growing.

“As for this being a “message board,” I think you’ll discover that around here people who say stupid things tend to get trashed. If I were you I would apologize and move on.”

****

On the contrary....most people here treat those with whom they disagree with the same courtesy they would expect others to give them. You may have been a pilot and what-not, but when it comes to everyday life, it seems no one taught you anything about civility, or perhaps they tried, but you didn’t pay attention.

That’s ok. Just call me when you get your attitude adjusted.

You see: I just have a different idea about people who make stupid statements here. Usually they're liberals. I have no tolerance for liberals or anyone making stupid statements. If you don't like it, then hit the abuse button and see if the Admin will listen. I'll admit that two or three times they have as concerns something I've posted, but that's since 1998. Go for it. But remember, I speak from knowledge. You are expressing your feelings.

From my objective perspective as just a thread reader you might be right on facts about flying but you were extremely rude.

But that’s ok, go ahead and jump on me, too.

I don’t need to hit the abuse button. I’m a big girl; I can take care of myself. I’d feel sorry for you, but it would be a big waste of my time.

Hey, the guy hails from The Armpit of the Universe -- and you expect him to be civil?
