The Obama Debt Tracker - more than $2 trillion of new national debt in less than 14 months
The United States Department of the Treasury ^ | Tuesday March 16, 2010 | The United States Department of the Treasury

Posted on 03/16/2010 12:29:48 PM PDT by jpl

Since President Barack Hussein Obama was inaugurated into office a bit less than 14 months ago, Obama, Pelosi, and Reid have increased the total combined national debt by more than two trillion dollars:

Date                   Debt Held by the Public         Intragovernmental Holdings   Total Public Debt Outstanding

01/20/2009         6,307,310,739,681.66         4,319,566,309,231.42         10,626,877,048,913.08
03/15/2010         8,152,640,856,906.57         4,484,022,099,233.50         12,636,662,956,140.07

In this time period, the debt has increased precisely $2,009,785,907,226.99, and worst of all, the overwhelming bulk of this is debt held by the public which has been borrowed from foreign government like the communist Chinese.

This is an absolutely mind-blowing increase of roughly one trillion dollars every seven months, or approximately $4.8 billion each and every single day. Two trillion dollars is approximately $6,500 for every single man, woman, and child in the United States.

And given the amount of stimulus money yet to be spent this year, it is pretty much a certainly than yet another trillion dollars of debt will be accumulated well before the end of this year.

I think thats the real urgency for “heatrh reform”

tax increases kick in immediately. Cuts “recommended” by federal health “advisory boards” will also take effect (as in no insured preventive care mammograms before age 50, and God knows what reduced age for hip transplants etc)

but no rela helathn covergae unitl 2014

Look for them to also cram though Capn tax by “reconciliation”- to get tax increases on energy

obama is depending on the revenue

In the Wall Street Journal today there is an article that ranks the worst state budget shortfalls for 2011.

Number One Worst Budget Shortfall? Illinois, Obama’s home State.

Number Two Worst Budget Shortfall? California, Pelosi’s home State.

One may see a trend here...

$2T spread over 300 million citizens is $7,000 per person. When you spread that new debt just among Americans who actually pay taxes each yer, it’s $21,000 per taxpayer. Are the liberals too stupid to understand the huge burden they are putting on working Americans by giving our money to their big donors and unions, or is the goal to destroy our country?

It is a looter government. Take everything you can, deficit be damned.

No entity (private or public) can survive this behavior.

When I read Atlas Shrugged, I thought Ayn Rand had overstated the other side to make her point. Today, I'm leaning more toward a belief that she toned the "looter" position down to make it less unbelievable.

Their stupidity has nothing to do with it. It’s about P O W E R
and dicktaters don’t care how much burden they impose on people.

I honestly cannot understand how anyone can doubt that it is the latter.

If you have doubts then riddle me this, if they WERE deliberately trying to destroy the country WHAT WOULD THEY DO DIFFERENTLY THAN WHAT THEY ARE DOING NOW? I can’t come up with an answer to that, maybe someone smarter than I am can answer it.

About $25k per family.

Less than two years of my health insurance payments.

This debt is not insurmountable.

The problem is the Leftism in control of our government that makes it impossible to correct.

Ooops. I calculation against the new debt.

The total debt is more like $170k per family.

Oh well, that’s more like a mortgage.

calculation -> calculated

On a 30 year, no interest note, it would cost each family approximately $475/month, or $16/day - a family of 4 with 300 million people.
