About 1,000 people gathered at the Minnesota State Capitol lawn Saturday to hear Rep. Michele Bachmann speak out against health care reform. Billed as the “Kill the Bill Rally,” Bachmann railed against a “government takeover” of all aspects of the economy and compared Barack Obama and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to Venezuela’s President Hugo Chavez.
“Some have called President Obama the first post-American president,” Bachmann said. “Certainly this health care bill would be our first postmodern legislation where words mean absolutely nothing.”
While other speakers took the podium, Bachmann was easily the crowd favorite, and her supporters waved signs reading “Obama Lies, Babies Die,” “Damn this federal government to hell,” “Obama bin Lyin’” and “The citizens must declare war on their immoral, corrupt, Marxist government.”
“Obama’s idea is for Pelosi to pass a bill and have her members vote on something they never voted for. Sounds more like a Chavez tactic in Venezuela,” said Bachmann. “We have a duty to resist tyranny. This isn’t a joke. They can’t do this. The government is working against us. They are not working for us, and they got it all backwards. They work for us. We don’t work for them.”

I love that Bachmann, but I haven’t seen her show interest in a run for President.

The difference is, everyone knows what Chavez is.
For me, the death knell of the Republic was the violation of contracts and the sanctity of private property at government whim. Once that happens without a vigorous and muscular response to the contrary, a terrible precedent has been established. It’s all downhill from there.
I hope someday we can compare him to Zelaya.

Have you seem the murder rate in Venezuela? It’s now higher than the USA with fewer than 10% of the population. Reminds me of the post civil war and the Democrats lynching their white political opponents. And I bet you thought lynching was all about blacks ... The Venezuela authorities say it’s a crime spree, I say it’s the Chavez government eliminating the opponents of his thugocracy.
A congressional rep has no executive credentials, thus no chance of victory. - Right thinking just isn't enough. This point also affects Hunter, and DeMint, among others.

It would seem that no executive credentials and left thinking is plenty enough for the job today, the opposite should be just as true.
Those with the proper principles behind them should do just fine.
And while your at it, list the exec experience of John McCain.
