Final destination Iran? Exclusive: Rob Edwards

Hundreds of powerful US bunker-buster bombs are being shipped from California to the British island of Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean in preparation for a possible attack on Iran.
The Sunday Herald can reveal that the US government signed a contract in January to transport 10 ammunition containers to the island. According to a cargo manifest from the US navy, this included 387 Blu bombs used for blasting hardened or underground structures.

Contract details for the shipment to Diego Garcia were posted on an international tenders website by the US navy.
A shipping company based in Florida, Superior Maritime Services, will be paid $699,500 to carry many thousands of military items from Concord, California, to Diego Garcia.
Crucially, the cargo includes 195 smart, guided, Blu-110 bombs and 192 massive 2000lb Blu-117 bombs.

It’s called playing chicken. Just another way to send signals to Iran. Truth be known, Onada will never order their use. He thinks countries like N. Korea, Venezuala and Iran are the good guys.
yea, usually get some pretty decent feedback from the folks over at TF
It's well past Perpare. The've already been Dispersed, and they've been Deceiving for 30 years.
And, I did my time in the Navy. USS Will Rogers SSBN-659 for 6 years. So take your "non-military" and cram it.
It’s still British territory. I suppose it depends on the terms of the lease, but I don’t think the Brits would ever have given us carte blanche to conduct military operations from British territory, regardless.
Blu 110 & 117s are the standard penetraters. Yes, you’ll need the big more exotic bombs to get to the stuff that I’ve read underground in Iran...perhaps use B-61 mod 11s. ;-)

"I'm getting rid of those Jewish settlements!"
Near Jerry Garcia.
It is made to build up tremendous speed and then penetrate through many floors of reinforced concrete. It also has GPS guidance so this big monster can land within feet of an intended point.
I believe the public stats list penetration of:
200 ft of reinforced concrete
26 ft of high density reinforced concrete
or
130 ft of moderately hard rock
Over 20,000 pounds of this 30,000 pound munition is heavy steel made to withstand the impact and keep penetrating before detonating and a chosen depth or number of floors. The warhead itself is listed at 5,300 pounds.
Uh all that will not fit in 10 containers.
In recent years, Diego Garcia has also become the home for forward deployed U.S. guided missile submarines, SSGN-728 (USS Florida) and SSGN-729 (USS Georgia). Florida and Georgia are formally assigned to Submarine Squadron SIXTEEN, based out of Kings Bay, Georgia, but conduct crew turnover and minor maintenance at Diego Garcia.
GEODSS at Diego GarciaThe base is part of the U.S. Space Surveillance Network,[12] with a three-telescope GEODSS station, and is a NASA Space Shuttle emergency landing site.[13]
Neither the UK nor the U.S. recognise Diego Garcia as being subject to the African Nuclear Weapons Free Zone Treaty, though the rest of the Chagos Archipelago is included, suggesting they wish to maintain the freedom to base nuclear weapons there.[14]
The agreement between the UK and U.S. for the U.S. to use the island as a joint military base was made in 1966 and is due to expire in 2036. However, either government may opt to terminate the agreement in 2016.
Construction and maintenance of the base’s communications equipment, fuel facilities and military hardware are conducted strictly by military contractors, and inventories of that weaponry are classified. No service-member family dependents are allowed. In 2001, the United States Department of Defense said that there were more buildings on Diego Garcia (654) than military personnel.[15]
I saw B2’s there three years ago.
These bombs can’t go deep. They are naval general purpose bombs.
Iran is not the target. Israel is the target.
Game it out. Make yourself look objectively at the pattern of behavior of the Obama administration thus far. From their own words and actions, the entity which poses the greatest impediment to their desired agenda for the Middle East is Israel.
I believe everyone is projecting their own perspectives of what is desirable onto Obama and ignoring the clear pattern of the signals he has been continuing giving as to what he would like.
