Final destination Iran? Exclusive: Rob Edwards
Published on 14 Mar 2010
Hundreds of powerful US bunker-buster bombs are being shipped from California to the British island of Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean in preparation for a possible attack on Iran.
The Sunday Herald can reveal that the US government signed a contract in January to transport 10 ammunition containers to the island. According to a cargo manifest from the US navy, this included 387 Blu bombs used for blasting hardened or underground structures.

Contract details for the shipment to Diego Garcia were posted on an international tenders website by the US navy.
A shipping company based in Florida, Superior Maritime Services, will be paid $699,500 to carry many thousands of military items from Concord, California, to Diego Garcia.
Crucially, the cargo includes 195 smart, guided, Blu-110 bombs and 192 massive 2000lb Blu-117 bombs.

No kidding. Whatever happened to “loose lips sink ships”? I can just see a sympathetic reporter standing on the dock with a notepad watching people load stuff onto ships.
Who knows? Just being prepared- at least.
Unless he has managed to shove elf care down our throat, then we’ll still be hopping mad (and there would be broad bipartisan support for the attacks on Iran, so it’s not as if voters are losing anything in that category by putting Republicans in power).
"....Superior Maritime Svc Inc is a private company categorized under Deep Sea-Foreign Transport of Freight and located in Sunrise, FL. Our records show it was established in 2006 and incorporated in Florida. Current estimates show this company has an annual revenue of less than $500,000 and employs a staff of approximately 1 to 4....."
Is this how the U.S. military ships weapons??????????
IF this is a truthful report, I want to know how the leaker of this data is still not enjoying a dirt bath. Has it occurred to anyone in the Intel community yet that the article contains all the data needed to attack the shipping?
Well, that’s odd because I know a guy who works on the ships that were going to Diego Garcia and the government stopped the shipping to the island. The US was leasing the base from the British and the lease ran out. There is a big push being made to return the island to it’s native inhabitants, but the problem is, it doesn’t seem to have any real “native inhabitants.” Anyway the shipping is going somewhere in the Mediterranean, now, I think. Off the coast of Spain, maybe. I forget what the guy said, but he has been getting off the ship in Spain.
Maybe it was SUPPOSED to be a “honey trap” sting operation?
“A thermobaric weapon would be a better choice to take out who ever is in a cave and then these could be used to close them...”
It’s been done to catastrophic effect before: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/639647/posts
Good enough for hardened leadership targets perhaps?
More media treason- loose lips, and all that!
Somehow I cannot work out how all of those items will be stuffed in just 10 boxes.
That's just the point. The Republicans would feel obligated not to attack the CinC (those Pubbies who actually have the gonads to do so in the first place)and the Demonrats could squeak to a victory in 2010.
The Air Force seems to be pretty tight lipped as to how the explosive mixture works.
Jeez. Manta had a virus?! Oy.

During the 34 Day War Israel used these to try to take out
deep bunkers in Lebanon,,,
Some over 100’ deep and they just would not reach that deep,,,
Some info :
I’d be willing to bet that the majority of the top leadership of Iran don’t spend their lives 24/7 in bunkers that deep, maybe their nights. There are plenty of worthwhile relevant targets that can be serviced by these munitions.
That’s true,,,
They’ve gotta come out sometimes,,,
If we could get a GPS fix on them we mite have better luck
with a UAV...
obambam could very well use it as a 'twofer' [or toof-ur in ebonics] to do his allies dirty work while garnerin a patriotic dead cat bounce just before nov...
I just looked at TF to see if it was posted there, and voila! It was ;)
