The furor triggered by the announcement during US Vice President Joe Bidens trip last week of plans to build 1,600 housing units in northeastern Jerusalem continued to reverberate over the weekend, with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton calling the move insulting and the new EU foreign policy chief hinting Europe could use trade ties as leverage against Israel.
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, apparently taken aback by Clintons sharp criticism, called a meeting of his inner cabinet on Saturday night to discuss the continuing fallout and formulate a response.
Following that meeting, Netanyahu put out a statement late Saturday night saying he would set up a committee headed by the director-general of his office, Eyal Gabai, to investigate the unfolding of events during the Biden visit and come up with regulations to prevent a similar occurrence in the future. The committee will also include the directors-general of the Interior Ministry, the Construction and Housing Ministry and the Jerusalem Municipality.
Prior to the inner cabinet meeting, Netanyahu spoke to two of Israels closest allies in Europe, Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi and German Chancellor Angela Merkel, and said he realized that the announcement of the project during Bidens visit was a mishap, but that Jerusalem had apologized to Biden and coordinated with him the statement on the matter released on Thursday morning by the Prime Ministers Office.

You are an idiot. Quit drinking and get some rest.
Think ‘Der Sturmer’, the weekly German newspaper from WWII.
$1.5 billion is military aid only. Presumably to protect Egypt from ???...
I’m thinking that right before the EU foreign minister comes out to announce anything like that... a sniper needs to take him out.
And take out anyone else that would raise the issue.
I’ve noticed that Europeans are quite hesitant to criticize anything about Islam, for Muslims tend to try and kill those that do. And why not? It’s working.
So... why not adopt those tactics that work? We did with unrestricted submarine warfare and the Blitzkreig. So what’s the holdup with this?
What’s your point?
Go back and read my first post (#6 or so). I make a pretty simple point and several members on this forum accuse me of being a Nazi. Stupid, uncalled for, and nothing could be further from the truth.
Sorry - #8
Why? If America doesn’t want to give the money to Israel, then Congress will vote not to give the money to Israel.
As for Israel, they would be better off without the money, for they would then have no strings to hold them back when it came time to deal with what they need to deal with.
Tell "Cankles" Clinton, "Bumbling" Biden and that moronic mulatto in the White House to pack sand.
Nam Vet
I like Bibi; he should pull a Rodney Dangerfield on this POS administration of two bit bitches, Homo-Leninists and Communist sympathizers.
One can’t get any respect from those that have never earned it!
Why do you believe that housing construction starts should be decided at a national level? Perhaps that should be done here in America first, just to check and see how effective it’ll be.
You might want to consider when BIBI came here last year Bo wasn’t exactly cordial to him either...the “mis-understandings began long before Biden went there. It’s how Bo handles things...he can’t keep throwing his weight around..besides what makes any of us think this is really not just a huge distraction on purpose with Iran thing going on.
Jerusalem ain't part of your collective sweetheart. Hands off.
Bidens expression reminds me of Walter...lol.
This guy is still pining away for Der Volkischer Beabachter..
