The RINO McCain is in New Hampshire now campaigning for Kelly Ayotte, who is running for Senator from that state.
According to the Nashua Telegraph, he's also co-hosting a town hall with Ms. Ayotte.
The Boston Globe notes that the town hall meeting was
"reminiscent of those he held during his two presidential campaigns."
Fox News also reports that
McCain did over 100 townhall meetings leading up to the crucial "First in the Nation" New Hampshire Presidential Primary and won, once again becoming the GOP frontrunner.
So, my question for my fellow FReepers is, McCain's 2010 re-election race with J.D. aside, what happens if McCain wins in 2010 and then makes a power play to take the 2012 GOP nomination against Obama? What will you do? Whom will you support?
Even worse: what if McCain triangulates and runs alongside Romney?
Only if he learns how to use the internet by then.
Just kidding, I wouldn’t vote for him for dog-catcher.
Ridiculous.
better question: what conservative is going to defeat mittster in newHampshire?
Don’t assume Sarah will make an effort there.
I will not vote for McCain or Romney. Period.
I don’t care who the Democrats run. I don’t care how dire the situation is in 2012. I simply will not compromise my values to vote for Democrat Lite ever again.
I refuse to vote for anyone who thinks that our most basic rights are negotiable or thinks that our sovereignty and national security are up for grabs to the highest bigger.
So many of rabid McCain voters tried to make the rest of us feel guilty for refusing to support his train wreck of a candidacy.
They said that if only we’d vote for him, they’d work tirelessly after the election and they’d make it known to all that McCain was the last privileged, lying, elitist, out of touch screwball any of us would ever have to vote for again.
So, to anyone who who wheedled, begged, pleaded with or tried to coerce the rest of us into swallow our decency and voting for that liberal loser....
Y’all better get to work mucking out the barn. That giant pile of RINO poop you promised to get rid of is getting dangerously high & deeper by the day.
Of course McCain will seriously consider running again - he hasn’t the wit to retire to “senior statesman” status like Bob Dole did in 1996, after losing to a clearly inferior opponent.
A rematch in 2012 between McCain and Obama in 2012 serves nobody.
If anything, McCain SHOULD have resigned his seat in the US Senate in 2008, and run full-time for the office of President. So should have Obama, too, but we aren’t going to get any do-overs now.
How is this a conservative nightmare?
McCain isn’t a conservative. And everyone knows it.
We will have his sorry butt kicked to the curb early in the primaries.
Let him try; but, let’s face it, McCain is not going to go down easily, he thinks too highly of himself; and, he wants to gum things up for the more conservative candidates in the GOP.
Go J.D., beat the hell out of McS—thead!
You probably will see little if any polling data.
McCain is down by 15 points easy.
Say goodnight John.
rat...It's the new conservatism.
In a little over a year he has destroyed the economy, singlehandedly lost the WOT (fulfilled his function as a decapitation strike on the US) and brought America to her knees. I'd call him many things, but lame-duck isn't one of them.
That term might be used for the American people giving him the keys to the nation.
NH and IA have proven themselves pretty irrelevent in the early selection process. The whole primary process needs to be overhauled, period, and it should stop being so absurdly early.
Did you even read my reasoning?
Let me put it this way: I *KNOW* Obama won’t agree or listen to me; I don’t want the illusion that my leader will listen to me, which is what we’d get with Romney/McCain, I’ve had too much of the “*nod, nod* ‘I’m listening to you; and I agree.’ only to have the “leader” do exactly the opposite.”
I wouldn’t say I expect Juan to run again, but I would not be at all surprised if he heard his country’s call once more.
Why stop there? While you are making silly vanity posts, why not start posts on “What will happen if Bob Dole runs again!?!?!?” and “What will happen if Bush 1 runs again!?!?!?”
McWHO???
after IA and NH, it was pretty much whittled down to McCain and Romney and McCain succeeded in stopping Romney in NH. If Romney had a solid win in NH, he would have been the nominee.
If there is a grassroots conservative candidate in ‘12 (Palin or somebody), he/she almost has to win IA and NH to get momentum to go the distance.
I’d vote for you over McCain!
