Results from the GOP state preprimary convention By Heath Haussamen 3/13/10, 12:49 pm
KOKESH GETS SMOKED BY MULLINS!
TREASON LOSES FIRST ROUND IN NEW MEXICO!!
I agree, Sandoval has a wide open road to the governorship (he should be able to get by the terribly unpopular Gibbons in the primary and the Spawn of Reid in the general without breaking a sweat), and Martinez won’t be as fortunate. However, I think that Domenici, Jr. will rethink his gubernatorial run due to his atrocious vote percentage in the convention and that Martinez has to be a heavy favorite for the nomination, and that in the general the candidate with the R next to her name should be a slight favorite as well given the political environment.
;-p
Don’t get me wrong RaceBannon it’s great that it appears this d-bag Koresh will not be nominated by the Republican party.
LOL, Slim!
Evidently Suzanna even won over some who went to the pre-primary all set to cast their votes for someone else until they heard her speak. I was leaning towards Weh, but I’m going to do more research on Suzanna.
Pretty good for an anglo transplant! I guess I’ve been living near a land grant too long. :)
I like Martinez and Weh too, but still need to know more. A bit surprised that Domenici did so poorly, but I think there’s an anti-incumbent mood, which extends to “names” as well. I also think he’s got more RINO potential than the two front runners.

There’s an article on Sanchez. He sounds a little full of himself (you’d have to be to run for Governor as freshman State Rep against a heavyweight rat) but I like what he has to say.
In winning that state seat Sanchez had accomplished the nearly impossible by knocking off Raymond Sanchez a perennial DIM powerhouse. It was one of those things like the Berlin Wall coming down, you never thought it would happen in your lifetime.
He was heavily promoted to take on the Gov election by the Repub Chairman at the time, John Dendhal who IMO was a NUT. Walter Bradley, the LT. Gov under Johnson would have been a better choice (he was running but eased out), but still would have lost to King Bill.
you confused us by saying Sanchez is running for GUV.
he be runnin’ for LT GUV.
He ran for Gov in 2002 (as a freshman state rep) against Billy Richardson. That’s what I was referencing.
“John Dendhal who IMO was a NUT. “
Libertarian like Gary Johnson?
Anyway it took guts for Sanchez to run (it would have been great if he won but sadly no Republican was likely to win) but it was a premature and it had the effect of interrupting his career soon after it started. He could make no immediate comeback because the GOP held on to his state house seat with Teresa Zanetti (who lost it in 2008).
Not like Gary Johnson, but still a nut.
and the guys like you on here are smarter than all the pro-family “activist” in CT put together.
Here, they’ve trashed their allies, and promoted their adversaries. There are great numbers of pro-abort small government conservative activists here. Including the tea party leaders. And the pro-family folks get advice from these guys on who to support and not support! And they take the advice!
Seems to be blowing up this week in CT-4.
The fact that Kokesh failed to get 20% of the delegate vote means that he must collect another 1400 signatures from registered republicans in the district by March 26. If he can do this, he gets to be second place on the ballot.
My NM GOP chairman has the final total for Adam at 16%. Some delegates arrived late but were allowed to cast their votes.
It looks to me that the number is clearly 656.
See http://www.sos.state.nm.us/sos-elections.html
then look at the “2010 Candidate Guide.” It’s a pdf, on page 27.
who do you think started the tea parties??
Looks like the newbie libertarian is an Adam Kokesh fan.
I just voted for Adam Kokesh, (I’m a New Mexico 3rd congressional district resident)
Multiple groups of conservatives, libertarians, independents and people who were just plain, fed up.
