According to the National Catholic Reporter, Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good, a Washington-based advocacy group, sent a letter to members of Congress on Friday urging support for the Senate-passed health care bill and expressing its view that the bill contains sufficient provisions to prevent the use of federal money to pay for insurance coverage of abortions.
The story caught the attention of the White House, which sought to publicize it on Friday evening.
Representative Bart Stupak, Democrat of Michigan and a leader of the House pro-life caucus, has insisted that the Senate bill does not impose sufficient restrictions on insurance coverage for abortions. But other Democrats disagree. The Senate language was negotiated by Senator Ben Nelson, Democrat of Nebraska, and Senator Bob Casey, Democrat of Pennsylvania, who both oppose abortion rights, and Senator Barbara Boxer, Democrat of California, who is favors abortion rights.
Congressional leaders are trying to make a case that if the compromise was sufficient for Mr. Nelson and Mr. Casey, it should be sufficient for others. Mr. Nelson voted in favor of the Senate bill, but he has since said that he preferred the restrictions that Mr. Stupak succeeded in including in the House-passed health care bill

National Catholic Reporter— liberal rag
Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good— who?
Nuf ced.
Pro abortion catholics . Not unusual. If the only argument with this disaster is abortion language , well , you know .
Do not be fooled.
This is not the position of the Catholic Church.
Just a Left wing Liberal group that does not follow the teachings of the Church.
If the New York Times thinks this is a legitimate “Catholic Group”, then it MUST be! /s
No surprise at all.
ROTFL! What a bunch of losers. I’ll bet this mob thinks that Glenn Beck is “anti-Christian” too. We REALLY screwed up when we let the commies take over our churches too.
The National Catholic Reporter and 'Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good' are Catholic just like Nazi Pelosi is Catholic.
These are liberals posing as Catholics who are in bed with the left wing media/union/marxist complex. They do not speak for the Church and more often than not dissent greatly from the Catholic Church's teachings.
These are subversive non-Catholic organizations set up to front liberal causes.
They give the baby killers in the media something “positive” to report about the Roman Catholic Church.
NEW YORK Times alert! The left is at it again!
Surprise, you have just been ‘had’ by George Soros.
This is a George Soros backed group. He provides multimillions to this bunch of pseudo-Catholics to promote his agenda.
Of course, the media just promotes propaganda and doesn’t ask questions.
It’s pitiful that one must use foreign news sources to get around our State controlled propagandists in the media.
Astro turf....like “republicans for choice”...
Master speaks...the white house listens...
Useful Idiots.
Gosh they sure sound authentically Catholic to me. I mean no one would trade on the name of the Church to fool people into following an agenda completely contrary to Church teaching, would they???
Oops, never mind. The stupid pill wore off.
GENOCIDE IS NEVER ACCEPTABLE!

Code Red - House Target List on Health Care
The National Republican Congressional Committee has published a target list on health care. In addition to continuing to contact the five Tennessee Democrat Congressmen, you can go http://www.votervoice.net/link/clickthrough/ext/94697.aspx to contact some of these targets. Much of the talk following Obamas announcement has focused on how to defeat this second bill through reconciliation, but that is misleading because the first step to defeating Obamacare is not by concentrating on defeating the fixer bill but by defeating the Senate bill in the House when it goes to the floor for an up-or-down vote on Thursday, March 18th.
