"What would Jesus do?" That's what many people in Boulder, Colo., are asking after a Catholic elementary school in the city expelled two children because their parents are lesbians.
The conflict in the Roman Catholic Church over homosexuality has come to loggerheads in the community, with the church standing by its belief that marriage is a pact between a man and a woman while opponents accuse it of failing to live up to Jesus mission of love and acceptance.
Sacred Heart of Jesus Church says it told the lesbian couple that their older child would be allowed to complete enrollment in kindergarten this year but would not be allowed to attend first grade in the fall. Their younger child will be allowed to finish preschool but can't enter kindergarten.

Thanks, keep up the good work.
Ding. Ding. Ding.
Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination. - Leviticus 18:22
The fact that this particular sin is called an abomination suggests the Almighty really doesn’t think much of it. Killing isn’t called that; neither is adultery.
21: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
22: Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
23: And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
24: Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
25: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
26: For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
27: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
- Romans 21-27...
Seems there is a strong positive correlation between homosexuality and being a godless heathen, or else the Holy Spirit would not have moved Paul to say so.
You could say that adds up...
I'm believing that this is not a trap, okay?
It's not a matter of openness or hypocrisy. EXCEPT: One of my teachers quoted to me "Hypocrisy is the tribute vice pays to virtue."
(It's late. I'm tired an inarticulate, forgive me.)
If I conceal my embezzlement, at least I MAY be acting not only out of a fear of being discovered, but out of shame because I know the theft is wrong. If, on the other hand, I brag about my theft, then I may be in serious peril because I have lost the gift of shame to guide my moral judgment.
If I am a sufferer of "sex addiction (if there is such a thing, and I think there may well be)" I have committed adultery and the smart money is betting I will do so again, I may at least acknowledge that it is wrong and, when caught, I experience and declare myself as lost and helpless in the grip of sin.
But if I am a serial adulterer and proud of it, not only (in my view) have I lost the ability to control myself, but I have lost the ability to see that what I do is wrong.
The one who sneaks off to "consume" pornography and dreads being found out MAY be closer to asking for help than the one who happily posts bookmarks to his favorite porn sites on the computer he shares with his wife.
So the homosexual who slips again and again and finds himself or herself misbehaving may be closer to the kingdom of heaven than the "married" homosexual who thinks there is no problem with what he's doing.
A guard at Auschwitz who was proud of his work would be at greater risk than the guard who was tormented by it.
I hope that's clear and responsive.
I fully support the school’s decision, as they have the right to admit or reject any students they wish. I feel bad for the two kids, since it’s not their fault they’re getting expelled, but the problem lies with the parents. They’re the ones to blame for thinking that nobody there would have a problem with the children of a lesbian couple. It’s a Catholic school - what did you expect?
Let’s say the kids hadn’t been kicked out. What do you think would have happened if those children were sitting in class one day - presumably a Bible class - and the subject of homosexuality came up? What do you think would have happened if those two kids went home and told their two “mommies” that the nuns or teachers at their schools believe that their “mommies” were going to hell for being unrepentant homosexuals? Or that their homosexuality is a sin? I can tell you what would happen. Those two would drag the school through a huge lawsuit, that’s what. This action by the school may very well just be their own form of damage control, although the damage has probably been done as the two women might sue anyway.
