Understand that the Texas Legislature only meets once every two years for 140 days unless the Gov. calls a rare special session for a specific topic. The next legislative session will begin in Jan. 2011. That will be the earliest that anything can be done legislatively. Now there maybe some committees meeting for planning purposes to have things ready to go for the upcoming session.
Our legislature is out of session until next year. It's why you haven't heard anything out of Texas on this.
