House Democrats' 'no' votes are piling up on healthcare reform By Bob Cusack - 03/11/10 11:10 AM ET

More than two dozen Democrats are expected to vote against the healthcare reform bill that will hit the House floor in the coming weeks.

At least 25 House Democrats will reject the healthcare reform legislation, according to a survey by The Hill, a review of other media reports and interviews with lawmakers, aides and lobbyists. Dozens of House Democrats are undecided or won't comment on their position on the measure.

The 25 opposed include firm "no" votes and members who are likely "no" votes. Most Democrats on The Hill's whip list are definitely going to vote no, but others, such as Reps. Lincoln Davis (Tenn.) and Harry Teague (N.M.), could vote yes.

However, The Hill has not yet put Democrats who are insisting on Rep. Bart Stupak's (D-Mich.) language on abortion in the "no" category. Stupak has said there are 12 Democrats who supported the House bill in November who will vote no unless his anti-abortion-rights measure is melded into the final bill.

If leadership doesn't make changes to the abortion language and Stupak does indeed have 12 votes in his pocket, it will be very difficult to pass a bill. Yet if they do change the provisions, supporters of abortion rights in the House will threaten to vote no.

The Hill's list does not include members of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, who are threatening to vote no unless changes are made to the bill's immigration-related provisions. Most on Capitol Hill believe that language will not be changed and that most members of the CHC will still back the final measure.

There WON’T be a FINAL BILL! Once the senate bill is passed ZERO will sign it as soon as they can carry it across to his office!

Stroke of the pen, law of the land!

If The Hill, a communist front rag, says this.... then they are in trouble.

which is why Pelosi and Slaughter are trying to come up with a way for it to pass without voting on it

It doesn’t appear that it’s going to matter if the Slaughter Rule is adopted.

It will not "hit the House floor". They will not vote on it, simply mark it up and send it back to the senate for them to vote on it with the mark-ups, thus saving the House from having to vote on it. Constitutional? Not at all. Will the press call them on it? Not at all..............

Then they also need to vote against the Parliamentarians ‘Slaughter Rule’. I believe this has to pass a vote in order to be used to ‘deem’ the House bill passed.

I’m not holding my breath. These weasels will continue to flip flop until the last second. Right now this posturing is much ado about nothing.

There really is no flip flopping. The Democrat party releases these statements about twice a day and the MSM slavishly reports them. Watch FoxNews website. This AM their headlines made it sound like the bill was set to pass, this afternoon, look at the headlines. I am sure their DNC will release the 3:21pm talking points and the same "Health-care deal reached with House rank and file" will pop up in the MSM.

“House Democrats’ ‘no’ votes are piling up on healthcare reform”

Let’s hope the writer is correct. Let’s not forget their DemocRATS and have been known to drink the kool-aid.

Why are the dems so set on including abortion funding in this bill? If they removed that, they probably could get the votes to pass it.

####

Because there’s probably no other way they could “sneak” taxpayer funded abortions into legislation. This bill is so complex and hard to understand, it’s hidden from plain view and they hope nobody notices it’s in the legislation. Pelosi and Obama have been lying through their teeth saying there is no abortion funding in the bill, but like the spaghetti sauce commercial, “its in there.”

If they had the votes they would have voted on it already, so the do not have the votes. This bill is like a fish, every day it stinks worse than the day before.

This bill is deader than soccer....

Shea-Porter of New Hampshire is a lost cause. She and Paul Hodes, who is running for Judd Gregg's seat in the Senate, are just two of Nazi Pelosi's "lap poodles".

They will vote exactly as Nazi tells them to.

They will not stand to get in front of angry townhallers last year.

But alas, they must get in front of voters to ger reelected this year, and there is no way they want that much heat.

...most members of the CHC will still back the final measure.

...the final measure (CHC). The final solution (Hitler & the Nazis).

Socialist-Commie pigs & Fascist-Nazi pigs, all are hatched from the same pits of Hell, and love to cast their proclamations in dire straits of finality. They are all liberal-progressive-sociaist-fascist-nazi-commie pigs cut from the same cloth!!! The MSM loves 'em however!

And then there's the Slaughter Option: don't have the House vote on it at all.

It all makes sense.

Most Democrats on The Hill's whip list are definitely going to vote no

I wish I could believe that.

You talk to people around our State, they are pissed, I think that Che-Porter may be toast. Hodes may be climbing a very steep slope, scum bag that he is.

Watch out for Tom Lantos daughter, Sweat, Dick Sweats leavings, an evil Kali Commie right from the bowels of Mordor, in your district.

Eyes is running for Rep up North.
