Im sorry you cant answer a yes or no question. Im sorry you cannot understand that you can make it more simple...yes or no. Im also sorry that you think I want a lesson from you, instead of the answer which you obviously cannot answer.
Well, I'm sorry that I can't get across what Divine Omniscience is all about. And I'm sorry that you think that I have something to do with it. And I'm sorry that you don't simply want to find out about Divine Omniscience from the One who has it, which is our Creator God. I'm sorry that you think that I know more about it than God knows and has said in His Word.
I guess we're all sorry all the way around...
Opinions are just like navels. Everybody has one.
And that's a good reason to not have an opinion about what Divine Omniscience is about... and instead just take God at His Word, since He has given it to us.
There are probably too many opinions on that already. Just let God speak for Himself from the Word that He has already given us ... :-)
It just hasnt sunk in has it? I am asking you for your opinion, not God. Judging by what youve been saying, you just cant think on your, so you keep changing the question around. Its sophomoric, Good nite
The problem with that -- is that one cannot have an opinion about something that one has absolutely no knowledge about. And Divine Omniscience is something that no human being has any knowledge about. We're all limited. Only God is unlimited in that respect (and in all His other attributes, but we won't go into those, because we're already having difficulty just making it through just this one attribute... LOL ...).
The only thing that I can do (and likewise, the only thing that anyone in the world can do) is simply repeat what God's revelation has said to us. How can anyone have an opninion on something in which they have no direct experience on, no direct knowledge on, no interaction with and absolutely no concept about -- except -- that God Himself tells us, in His Word.
There is no other alternative. God's Word is the only answer that is available to us. And that's where I go to get those authoritative answers. You (and anyone else) can go there likewise.
“And that’s a good reason to not have an opinion”
Here we go again with your dancing around issues. :-)
Isn’t not having an opinion, an opinion?
HI there - wow - can anyone give me a quick summary about this earthquake in Chile today?
(Heard about it at the office but this is the first chance I have had to read about it - but I am doing a few other things at this time also - so if anybody who reads this can give me a few sentence summary of this quake event - I would appreciate it.)
God is at work! Praise and thank Him!
You dont have to offend God for bad things to occur.
God often presents challenges regardless of your disposition with Him, and its how we respond to those challenges that matters.
Wow - are you still doing ok? This was a 7.2 earthquake and nothing much “fell” where you are? What about other places in Chile?
Prayers for the protection of the people of Chile despite these earthquakes.
Are you in Chile? How are things there today?
Hi there. Thanks for all our posts. Awesome!
I have a friend who is reading and liking a book by a man who has been told by a medium about his son who died some time ago.
This friend is a Christian who does not understand the dangers of consulting/promoting the activities of “mediums”.
Do you have any kind of definiitive information on what God’s Word says about this subject? I did a fast search on the subject and came up with several Scripture passages two of which I gave to my friend who said, “Do not lecture me.”
Any help you can give, including prayer for this person, I would appreciate.
Now back tot he Chile Earthquake thread - which definitely involves God at work - I believe He is at work protecting the people of Chile in the midst of these earthquakes.
The strongest Quake ever to occur in recorded history was from this fault. They are expecting an even larger one to come within the next 100 years or so. There is a pronounced feature in the Ocean floor that will eventually reach the Subduction zone. It's only a matter of time. All the prayer in the World will not keep this from happening. The laws of physics established by God will not be lessened or denied. Those who fail to heed the warnings and prepare, will suffer the results.
How does one prepare for what you describe?
(And thanks for all that information).
The prayer is for God to minimize the casualties WHEN these earthquakes occur.
I believe He has done just that in Chile.
I believe He can do that in answer to prayer everywhere around the world and I am praying for exactly that!
Obviously, earthquakes must happen. Given Jesus’ own words in Matthew 24, we know that as we near the time of Jesus’ return, these earthquakes will occur in increasing frequency and severity....as with birth pangs in a pregnant woman increase in those ways as she nears the birth of her baby.
These earthquakes are the “birth pangs” of this earth, I believe it is also part of “creation groaning” as it longs to see the return of its Creator God!
So they are GOING to happen - more frequently and more severely now!
But our part is, I believe, to pray and ask in faith believing that God will keep the casualties to a minimum wherever these are happening...
And we need to pray especially for the protection of loved ones in these quake prone areas!!
I am!
I’ve never understood why God would present challenges when He already knows the outcome.
>> Congratulations on perhaps the dumbest post ever on FR. <<
Doubtful. My recent experience is that just when I think I’ve seen the MOADP, along comes another!
If I could ammend my post, I would say that rather that God lets things happen. He does not challenge, but he wont stop something bad from happening either. Its up to us to see the blessings He has provided, and not be bitter about what our sinful world might take away. And, no, we cant begin to fully understand while we are of this world.
> Ive never understood why God would present challenges
> when He already knows the outcome.
God does not challenge us to see how we respond. He already knows that.
He wants *US* to know how we respond. He wants *US* to know ourselves and to show us and those around us who and what we really are.
Wasn’t Job challenged?
Are you saying He does all this just to teach us a lesson?Ultimately, what good does that do for the person that was challenged or anyone else? Regardless of how they perform, in 80 yrs or so they will be dead and in the place that God already knew they would be.
By the way, how do you KNOW this is what God wants?
