The question that dogs Dems: What if Obama fails?

President Obama's strategy for closing on health care relies on blaming the insurance industry, reminding Americans that coverage is a problem and urging public opinion to shift momentum in Congress.

Not part of the equation: What if he loses?

"No Democrat wants to contemplate it and certainly no one in the administration, because the consequences are too frightful," said Stephen Hess, a presidential scholar at the Brookings Institution.

The White House this week is stepping up pressure on congressional Democrats in a final drive to get reform on the books. In two rallies this week, Obama is hoping to turn public opinion back his way.

Last week's largely foregone conclusion about the Democrats using a parliamentary maneuver to pass reform with simple majorities is looking increasingly difficult.

"This one he has to win," said Hess, who added he believes Obama will prevail. "He has backed himself into that position."

Fails in what? Destroying the country by socializing it?
He showed enough of destructive “changes” that he deserves immediate impeachment!!!
No need to experiment with his “hope and change”, isn't failed Union of Soviet Socialist Republics proof enough???
Time to march on DC, block it, paralyze it until whole RAT nest resigns and place is fumigated once for all!!!

And they may even wonder who financed his education and his ongoing deception as president.

He’s already failed.

They’re just waking up to that fact.

I am guessing that a number of Dems in Washington will be thrilled to see Obama, Inc. leave town.
All politics is nasty; but his crew have brought a whole new nasty to town and I bet a lot of his own party would love to see them gone.

Actually, if he gets it passed it’s a win-win situation
for the hard core liberals

And a lose, lose situation for the Democratic Party in November, and for 0bama in 2012.

Even so, Tuman said, a loss would force Obama to start governing from the center and forge coalitions with independent Democrats and moderate Republicans.

Obama will never try to govern from the center.

1. He hates the center, the middle class, the real taxpayers.

2. Obama does not believe in governing - he views himself as a ruler and rulers don't govern they dictate.

He will spend the rest of his term trying to overrule Congress and the Supreme Court.

Funny, I’ve never held the insurance companies responsible for my health care.

I forget where I saw it, but Medicare is statistically the worst for denial of requested care - worse than any of the insurance companies. I remember trying to get physical therapy approved in Texas. Even if we worded the treatment plan exactly right, it was still a 50:50 crap shoot whether or not they'd approve it. They usually did approve when we sent back another request with even stronger reasons for approval, but I really think they did it in hopes we'd get discouraged and not appeal their decision.

TOLL-FREE PHONE CALLING

1-800-828-0498

1-866-220-0044

These toll free arrangements were set up by Obamuniust organizations to support (pause for sticking out tongue) “health” “care” “reform.” Use them! After all, they are free! . At the first number you must wait through a brief Obamunist tape recording. Just hang on and when the recording is over, you will get the Capitol operator. Just ask for your Rep or Senator’s office. Then you will either talk to an aide or have the chance to leave a message for him/her to vote NO on the health care bill.

When you use the second number and the Capitol operator comes on, just ask for your Rep or Senator’s office

I think that's right. I disliked Clinton very, very much -- but he ultimately understood that he had to "triangulate" and move to the center, no matter how much it galled him.

Obama isn't like that. He doesn't triangulate. He cannot move to the center. It would be beneath him.

When Obama goes down - it will be at the hand of the Democrats, not the Republicans.

a lose, lose situation for the Democratic Party in November, and for 0bama in 2012.

Obama is not the endgame, but another sapper
undermining American society, there WILL be others,
and probably much more distructive one as old school
dims are replaced by more radical types.

“His shooting star is now on downward trajectory, just a matter of time.”

This is too passive an analogy. A more accurate framing is that Obama has now driven off the cliff in a bus with Reid, Pelosi and a large number of Dems who will be severely punished at the polls next fall if they vote for Obamacare.
It won’t hit ground until all the attempted end-arounds in Congress have failed, but when it does, there’s going to be a lot of finger-pointing about who put such an insane driver behind the wheel. Retrospective regrets is way too mild to describe how Dems will be feeling at that juncture.

Saw that happen when I was living in the UK, when the loony left and the unions took over the Labour Party.
The Result? The Conservative Party ruled for close to 20 years. The Labour Party only managed to get in again, after moderates like John Smith(who suffered a sudden heart attack and died, leading to Tony Bliar taking over), took over the Labour Party from the left wing crazies.
The Democrats current domination by the loony left is only doing to lead to electoral Armageddon for them.

That was my tagline for several months in 2008 -

(Obama: Carter’s only chance to avoid going down in history as the worst U.S. president ever.)

I’m not happy I’m being proven correct.

Here's O'Bunga's peculiar conundrum, and it's one crafted entirely by his utterly disconnected 1600 Penn Ave Cabal:

If he loses on Health Care, it's a cataclysmic defeat given that he has made this his signature issue with a half-dozen famously failed prezzidential "deadline" edicts. He has spent the last year almost exclusively on getting this done. Not. Imagine three years of "lame duck" flapping and wheezing by a man whose own gross inexperience, inability to listen, nonexistent leadership skills, and horrific choices took him from the peak of worldwide adulation to the depths of National derision in one failed bid.

If he "wins" on Health Care, it's a catastrophic catalyst for more public wrath and venom than he believes possible; he loses worse than if Health Care fails. He goes from "lame duck" to "America's Most Loathed," with over 50% of his public just counting the days until we can fumigate the White House of the stench of his fetid odiousness.

Between Barack and a Hard Place will be the title of my next Vanity on this scintillating topic, and it will be an evocative, heartwarming read for all Freepers. Great family entertainment!

:-)
