This sounds like what happened in England before their civil war in the 1600’s. It ended up that the peons burned down the churches and executed the king.

Did you see the full environmental agenda prepared for the Obama Administration called “Transition to Green”? http://docs.nrdc.org/legislation/files/leg_08112401a.pdf
It spells out the increase in National Monuments, the change in the federal land planning rule and a whole bunch of things that he is trying to implement now - many through executive orders.

Forget the first link that I posted. That author’s a little weird. Their are links to better information behind the following.

Add the fact that the USFS, NPS and state of California have been putting more and more public land off limits and/or further limiting recreational activities. For example, if you climb Mt. Whitney you need one permit (if you can get one in the lottery) if you can do it in one day. You need two permits if it takes you more than one day (also by lottery) and they give you a “wag bag” if you need to pinch a loaf during your walk. If you fish along the way that will be another $41.50 for a resident license. No fires above 10,000 feet. So on this one walk if you get busted for violating any of the above rules by a ranger who is lurking, and they are sneaky, you have to pay fines for using PUBLIC LAND. Everybody gripes about it.

Teddy Roosevelt would probably let some bulls and moose loose in these power grabbing fools’ offices if he were around today.

Even though it is getting more popular to visit wilderness areas, big city folk are less inclined to do so. If only they would visit the areas that they claim to improve. These environmentalists have an agenda, but it is neither for the normal people nor by the normal people. So sad.

Sportsmen unite!

You might want to rethink your opinion of TR. He was someone who spearheaded FedGov land grabs.

I am not sure what that is - so I’ll take your word for it.

MFer. First word "mother." Second word rhymes with "suck." Add "er."

Starve the beast.<<<<<

Used to be my tagline and is ,I believe, the only viable resistance now!! Unload all you can now - debt etc. slow down any payment to the system. reduce income to survival levels. Maybe even go mobile!!

Neither of the political parties will make government any smaller. Avoid unnecessary purchases. Do everything that you can to cut your energy costs. Become more self-sufficient each month, and start a hobby of manufacturing a useful necessity. Starve the beast. She needs big revenues to continue. She’s spending too much and heading for default. Give her a little nudge.

Excellently put, short and sweet. I'd add only "In God We Trust."

From the transition paper:

“The President should issue an Executive Order on Climate Change and Natural Resources within the
first 100 days that:
Directs all federal agencies responsible for management of land, water or wildlife, or affecting land use policies, to account for their contribution to and expected impacts of climate change in their policies, planning and decision making and to use their existing authorities to the maximum
extent feasible to sequester and store carbon, safeguard native ecosystems and mitigate greenhouse gases through forest and land management and conservation.”

“sequester and store carbon”

WTF? Sequester carbon? These people are nutjobs. This is like Alice in Wonderland.

To the OP who asked what my better plan was: it’s starve the beast. I haven’t completely gone off the grid, but I’m working hard to eliminate all of my debt (making very good progress on that), learning to get by with less, being more self-sufficient, buying less new stuff. I’m also turning down overtime unless it is mandatory and looking for other ways to reduce my footprint.

“Transition to Green” is a statist dream. It must have at least 200 agencies, commissions, committees, or other government bodies that it creates, and thousands of new regulation. All of this would be funded by $billions of taxpayer dollars. It also runs roughshod over the rights of the States!

The evil that this government has become is going to hopefully mean the rebirth of the Conservative movement.
The GOP has started to open its eyes to what we all want and need. The Tea parties and Townhalls meetings prove that we are backing down anymore.

I fished at the pier in Long Beach a lot in my youth. I recall the people that I fished with were mostly either retired, poor, or just taking a break from their hectic lives, and enjoying some peace and quiet.

Back then the pier was open 24/7/365 and one could enjoy some cold beer when fishing there.

What I find truly interesting from this is the Black Community will be heavily impacted by any rules against fishing. One would think that would be a consideration of the Leftists before they would create laws against one fishing for dinner.

Just showed a map on Fox & Friends of the amount of land owned by the feds and it covers more than half of the land in the western U.S.
