When former President George W. Bush addresses the Economic Club of Grand Rapids in June, will he be riding a wave of nostalgia?
New York Times columnist Stanley Fish points to a few signs that Bush's image rehab has begun. One literally is a sign -- a billboard in Minnesota with an image of a smiling, waving Bush and a message that reads, "Miss Me Yet?"
He also notes a Newsweek cover story that vindicates Bush's Iraq policy, "Mission Accomplished" and everything.
Fish writes that Bush nostalgia, if it indeed exists, is the result both of Bush's relative silence since leaving office and growing public frustration with the Obama administration:
Bush profited from the fact that he kept a low profile and didn't snipe at his successor, a task left to his vice president, who therefore took upon himself the enmity and scorn previously directed at his former boss...

Geez, its just like you get your anger straight from the crotch of Paul Begala and James Carville. What a list of misinformation and PRAVDA-style smear tactics.
And I think you mean "Harriet Myers", but what's a little misspelling when you're busy trashing a good man?

I always thought that Number 7....didn't have anything to do with Bush. That the ship was done with it's tour..and it was sign for the boat and it's crew..for "their mission" being over.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong here....but I thought this was a fabrication by the MSM....

Not only do I miss George W. Bush, I am beginning to miss Jimmy Carter. At least Carter didnt kill the country...though his policies nearly killed a lot of us.And, don't forget, Carter is a bonafide Bible-verse-spouting Christian just like Duhbeeyeehah! So even though his and Bush's boneheaded decisions reminded us of hell he's still gotta be okay in the minds of some here to the far right of John 3:16!

It takes a Carter to get a Reagan.
It should have taken a Clinton to get another Reagan, but instead we got a Dole. Heck, there were people who wanted a GWBush instead of a Reagan in 1980. That was the so-called "pragmatic" choice. There's no guarantee an Obama gets us a conservative.
It's all a matter of what the people vote for on election day. If they let the media and talking head pundits (including those who purport to represent the right) determine our candidate for us, we'll get an Obama second term.
I've seen enough elections where Republicans talked themselves out of the better candidate, so there are no guarantees. Choose wisely, folks.

You are correct. But the truth has no power with the Bush haters. They just keep repeating the same lies over and over and pretty soon they’re part of America’s historical memory.

The USS Lincoln was in range of the Marine One helicopter; there was no need to make a trap landing with an S3 jet aircraft and the banner was manufactured at the White House (even though an aircraft carrier has at least a dozen shops that could have done the job)...connect the dots!

YES, I do.
Bush had his warts, but unlike Obama, he loved his country and he wasn’t a traitor.

It’s too bad I was only a child when Reagan was in. I think I was only 12 when he left. (I was born in ‘76).

Oh sob! Like Bush didn't deserve criticism for: 1. Signing CFR... 5. Immigration reform. That is HILAROUS coming from you, meandog. You're the biggest McCain pimp on FR, and McCain was the lead GOP voice for both CFR and shamnesty. But there is no sense in appealing to your sense of shame, because you long ago demonstrated you have none.
