Many Democratic commentators on the Networks and Cable are expressing surprise that the White House is intent on forcing through Healthcare despite extremely strong feelings against it nationally.
More moderate democrats are being pushed hard to vote for the Healthcare bill, despite its painful sanctions against Americans who dont buy the prescribed insurance, and strong pro-abortion language. These adjurations are being combined with assurances that funding and support will be available for their reelection bids in November.
However, sources are indicating that the Pelosi/Obama hard left of the Democratic party is prepared to take the hit this November, in exchange for long-lasting control of the party.
The numbers they are looking at are saying that Republicans will gain control of both the House and Senate in November, but that they will fall short of a supermajority, and thus the Presidents veto.
A (non-leftist) Democratic friend of mine said to me yesterday 40 years took us from J.F.K to J.Fn.K. Another 10 and were sweet F.A.". Sorry moderate Democrats. Looks like your party finally left you, just like it did President Reagan.
Good shootin', Tex. You just killed your own party.
It is pretty clear that Premier Hussein and his crew will say anything to get the Senate bill approved in the House. And once that happens, and Hussein signs it, that will be the last thing anyone hears about Health Care for the rest of the year. There will be no “reconciliation” whatsoever, and I think a lot of Democrats are awaking to that fact, and realize their political careers are about to be flushed down the sewer by their very own Democratic “leadership”.
Hussein himself was back out on the Campaign trail yesterday, and if you listen to any of the speech he read off of the teleprompter, it is clear that he is factually wrong about his claims about what the Senate bill will actually do. He is reading whatever the Staff types into the teleprompter, and they are acting like he is still running for office.
Behavior like this by the President no matter who he is, where he is so obviously wrong in the extremely partisan things he insists on saying in these public “readings” of his don’t just trouble me, it also emboldens our enemies because they can see what an empty suited jackass he really is.
I prefer putsch.
“Pelosi/Obama hard left of the Democratic party is prepared to take the hit this November, in exchange for long-lasting control of the party.”
Of course they are. They could`nt care less if they lose control of Congress in November because they know they will probably re-gain control 2-4 years down the road.
Good choice of words...I think we are heading toward giving the Democrats the equivalent of their own “Kristallnacht” or “Novemberpogrome” on election night...
Moderate Dems will join with us.
Increasingly I do not see where there are any Moderate Dems.
Any with moderate tendencies started migrating to the GOP in the 80’s. The Democrats right now are the hard-left product of hard-left money.
“Increasingly I do not see where there are any Moderate Dems”
Virtually none in the party apparatus, but still quite a lot of voters who believe the media “republicans are evil but democrats love you & hate bad things”.
Remember there are simple folk out there.
I’m afraid that what needs to be said is that “moderate” Democrats have themselves to blame. If they ride with horse thieves and mad dogs, then they should share their fate. Republicans should think twice about giving them sanctuary, because both parties have been hijacked by statists, and unfortunately that means the entire country is as well.
There are old fogies out there who still think that being a Democrat is honorable. Hard to tell if they’re loopy or just out of the loop.
ict ben nokt Berlin?
Obama is like a Teenage Girl crossed with Stalin , eager and needy for attention, “binge-ing” on public funding and “purging” people who aren’t left leaning enough.
Taking the House is possible, but a 10 senate seat gain is a tall order.
