New missile installed at Fort Greely

A new missile was installed in a silo at Fort Greely last month, the 22nd interceptor at the Missile Defense Agency site outside Delta Junction.

Ralph Scott, the spokesman for Alaska Missile Defense, said the latest installation is part of an effort to steadily add missiles at the site. The Defense Department has plans to install 26 missiles at Fort Greely, with the process to be completed by October.

Fort Greely is one of two sites in the U.S. with deployed interceptor missiles, according to the Missile Defense Agency Web site, joining three missiles at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California. The project is designed to defend the U.S. against a limited long-range ballistic missile attack by shooting down enemy warheads outside the earth’s atmosphere.

The first interceptor missiles were installed at Fort Greely in 2004. The Bush administration initially planned to install 40 missiles at the former U.S. Army post, but the project has been revised throughout time. President Obama plans to cap the number of interceptors at 26 at Fort Greely.

Scott said the missiles, which are about 54 feet long and 4 feet in diameter, are flown to Fort Greely in two pieces on U.S. Air Force transport planes and assembled on site.

The new missiles are being installed at Missile Fields No. 2 and No. 3. Missiles at the original field, which held six interceptors, are being moved to those fields because of plumbing problems and other reliability concerns that have emerged at the hastily built early silos.

DEAR LORD,

PLEASE Direct all incoming missiles

that OThuga’s treason causes to be missed by absent interceptors . . . direct all those incoming to his rear-end . . . as well as to the rear ends of all those who enabled him and put him in power.

Amen.

Bush installed those 25 land based interceptors, plus hundreds of PAC-3 terminal interceptors and sea-based SM-2 and SM-3 interceptors for some rough total of 600-odd interceptor defense missiles.

It’s not a bad line of defense. The key being that *our* nukes would have to take out the rest of a massive strike against us once the first icbm was detected to be in-bound.

Also, Bush installed an impressive sea-based and satellite-based “sniffing” system to guard against the ever-present “nuke in a cargo-ship” possibility.

None of it is perfect or comprehensive, but in sum our defenses could give us time to respond offensively such that our combined offense and defense saved the day.

For us, anyway...

I pray patriots are in charge of their readiness and use.

I don’t trust the globalists in or out of our military.

Thanks for your info. Comforting.

However, I suspect that God alone will be able to prevent some things.

Why are we telling the world where our missiles are and how many new ones we’re installing?

ABL does work; will be deployed. I suspect that we could speed that up a bit if needed.

Our limited anti-missile system isn’t of any real use against the Russians. It can deal with a few missiles lobbed at us by North Korea, Iran or possibly China, but Russia could easily overwhelm the system.

Of course, Russia isn’t very likely to launch against us.

The only sure way to get a Russian missile is to nail them when they are at their boost phase. This is where ABL comes in.

I always loved going to Greely. The coldest I’ve ever been was out at Black Rapids near there. Great fun!
