Weapon of Massa distraction: Cold showers and hot conspiracies (is he just an opportunist?)
Michelle Malkin.com ^ | 8 March 2010 | Michelle Malkin

Don’t trust Democrat Rep. Eric Massa any further than you can throw him.

He’s been a progressive zealot and political opportunist his entire career. He’s claimed conspiracy before, is intimately bonded with the nutroots, and climbed the political ladder with backing from the odious, anti-war-hoaxer-embracing Gen. Wesley Clark. What Massa dismissively calls his “salty old sailor” talk should raise bright red flags about possible longstanding predatory behavior.

Look, I’m as happy as anyone to see Rahmbo and the Chicago Way slammed so openly by another Democrat. Naked shower fights? Blue-on-blue catfights?

Yep, it confirms everything I’ve been writing about the Obama Culture of Corruption the last two years.

But.

He’s a sick, desperate pol looking to save his hide and distract from his smelly ethics problems and personal problems. This is not a hero, not a bona fide champion of reform and integrity in government. He’s the jerk who gave the figurative middle finger to his own constituents as he proclaimed last year that he would ram single-payer down their throats no matter what they thought..

..So, last year he’s the pol willing to go kamikaze to pass nationalized health care.

And now, tainted by scandal, he’s running to Fox News to cast himself as a warrior against Obamcare and its left-wing overlords?

A radical backer of the Big Labor card check bill, he’s now trashing union corruption.

C-r-a-p-w-e-a-s-e-l.

We don’t need this weapon of Massa distraction to indict the Obama thugs and to expose the Demcare bribe-a-thon. Don’t need him to keep the no-mentum going....

“If Massa is trying to CYA for November, his actions make sense.”

He dropped out of the bid for re-election day before yesterday. He knew big doo doo was going to be hitting the fan and he might not survive it. It appears he didn’t want to go through that or put his family through it (he has two young kids) and I don’t blame him. At this point I don’t see what motivation he would have to say all those things after resigning if there wasn’t some ring of truth to it.

Listen to this audio of Rep. Massa. Very interesting. Kind of makes you like the guy for standing up to the Socialist leadership.

I would hardly call Palin a RINO. The others, certainly, but Sarah's got solid conservative credentials.

Except he resigned, surrendering to that leadership.

I believe everything he said about Rahm and that Massa is a Weasley Clark-type weasel, and we already knew he was a jackass who bragged that he was going to vote against the wishes of his constituents.

Now, the question for democrats who *do* change their minds:

“On what date did Rahm visit you in the shower and what did he yell at you?”

True, he did resign. But I wouldn’t say he has surrendered just yet. Tomorrow he will be talking while on Glenn Beck’s show for the whole hour, and then later on Larry King Live.
Should be very interesting to say the least!

I grew up in that district and still have family there. I am not sure what to make of it just yet.

After Rangel and all the thoroughly corrupt Dems, I find it hard to believe Massa would resign unless they had some very serious dirt on him.

I think most of what he says about Rahm, the unions and the pressure put on him to secure his vote is accurate. But I can not believe him at face value.

If he was going to vote against it, and is innocent of severe ethics issues, I with he would stay around at least for the term. We could use another No vote on Healthcare.

But at least if he can take Rahm down and smear the dirty politcs behind the Healthcare bill he will have served some purpose.

Don’t trust—but please keep him talking. Maybe he’ll clue us in to something important.

re: They said on fox new this is all about keeping the ethics probe from going public.)))

I watched some of Fox.

I think Mass may be a winner for us, and we should listen to him the same way we have listened to Dick Morris...here's why...

Krauthammer just wanted to posture about his own dignity, wouldn't want to risk his sedate and respectable image. Kraut has a streak of narcissism, and this Massa stuff clearly threatens him. Point 1.

Then the gal from Hill was concerned that Massa was embarrassing himself and should stop ranting. She's a progressive concern troll, which means...Point 2

Kristol continued the meme that one doesn't behave like this, resign and then accuse, if he were on the level. (??) Incoherent. So Kristol wants to be all pure? What about Rangel, who keeps his job? The issue has to be Obamacare votes. Interesting that all the "All Stars" dropped this ball. Point 3.

Beckel on Hannity wants Massa to "shut up." Point 4

Clearly, we want Massa to keep ranting.

His rant was very convincing to me, because I already know a lot about Emmanuel, and this follows closely on the "F-ing Retard" incident.

And we know how desperately the Dems want this appalling monstrosity.

Or Massa is empowering other ‘threatened’ Dems to out themselves as well.

The BlueDogs who are being coerced, threatened, or like Massa, blackmailed need to realize they have the same power of the microphone as Massa did.

Very good analysis!! You need to do analysis from now on.

I really like Krauthammer even though we disagree communism is not dead. I think communism in theory is alive and well but called progressives.

Beckle, (who by the way will be euthanized under Zeke’s fat America health plan), says I disagree, they have votes.

I agree they will get votes but as of tonight pickle face beckle is lying. As usual.

I heard he was reconsidering the resignation, but I guess its now done. If he was guilty as insuated, would he draw attention to himself or go quietly?

He’s a dem so he probably is guilty

Kind of reminds me of another sleazy Democrat who got caught in a sexual scandal: Dick Morris. Though he was accused of some kinky fetishes with hookers, at least Morris wasn’t accused of coming on to his male staffers.

I don’t quite understand how Beck can deal with this guy without getting dirty himself. But, somehow it worked out for Dick Morris.

It occurs to me that Massa took Rahm’s “FR” comment personally.

I think highly of Malkin but insofar as there is any “argument” here it does not show what she thinks it does:

1) she gives good reasons to be leery of trusting Massa

2) she gives good reasons to think he’s a political opportunist

3) she gives good reasons that conservatives should not think of him as some great hero

None of that is to say that he might not have some *true* things to say that are highly embarrassing to the Demagogues and the whole push for socialized medicine, and none of what she says implies that Massa’s words and memory will not be very helpful in discrediting the vile Demagogues.

All that she shows is that conservatives should be careful to keep him at arm’s length, to avoid praising anything in his past record, and to focus solely upon his “allegations” or whatever against Rahm and the Obama administration.
