Harry Smith Colonoscopy to Air Live

"Early Show" co-anchor Harry Smith is scheduled to have a colonoscopy Wednesday - and the show plans live reports as he undergoes the procedure. Viewers will also learn what Smith had to do to prepare for it.
"CBS Evening News" anchor and Managing Editor Katie Couric plans to be With Smith as he gets ready for and has the colonoscopy at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center.
The procedure will be performed by Dr. Mark Pochapin.
It will be the first time an anchor has had a colonoscopy live on network television.

I’m 48 and was talking to my Doctor about this just last week. He kept talking about ‘prep’ - I had no idea what it was until he told me. Some kind of liquid you drink that cleans you out - but good.
My impression is, once you drink it, you hover very close to the toilet - for good reason.

I would like to recommend that everyone get this done also. My husband kept putting it off until he needed surgery for diverticulitis. After three surgeries and wearing a bag on his side for six months he would say the same.
