Your apelike ancestors probably aren't top of mind when you enter the polling booth. But a new study suggests that human evolution may have a big influence on whether you're liberal or conservative—not to mention how smart you are, whether you believe in God, or whether you've got a cheatin' heart.
It's all linked to the evolution of intelligence, says author Satoshi Kanazawa, an evolutionary psychologist at the London School of Economics and Political Science.

People who later admitted to being "not at all religious," and who classified themselves as "very liberal" politically had higher IQ scores as teenagers than those who were "very religious" and "very conservative."

The only intelligence needed is the will to live, which is not intelligence but rather good old common (street) sense.
Quite the reverse. Liberal athiests seem to discount or overlook the achievement of Jews and Christians, the ability to get beyond “envy” and form open societies. To the lib mind this just happens but they are at a loss to explain how it happens. To them reinstituting the closed envious society is prefered. Somehow they think they won’t be affected by such an outcome. They need to think again. The work of our ancestors that created a society that tolerates difference is not easily regained once lost. Ask the Germans how easy it is to re-institute an open society one the peoples decision is to close it. Down right bloody.

Moral codes, honor codes, personal standards, shorter hair, taking showers and not joining communes are signs of idiots while having lots of promiscuous sex, bending gender lines, and advocating failed Marxist ideals that historically killed tens of millions is ‘advanced’.

Darwinism posits that all life is consumed in the pursuit of food and procreation and selection is determined on what critter does it best. Basically, we eat and screw and those that eat and screw more efficiently are self selecting to populate the future. This is what liberals were taught to believe. They cannot accept the idea that homo sapiens have the capacity to be post-Darwinian, and exercise choice beyound our immediate base needs. They do not understand that some homo sapiens have progressed beyond the animal, and as such attract enormous envy from those homo sapiens that haven’t (i.e, Muslims towards Jews/Christians, blacks towards white/asians, tax consumers towards taxpayers). Liberals never delve into the paradox of their behavior relative to there belief in Darwin (i.e., why do Darwinians hate Hitler?).
So that meansthat all the people in this study were college age, some perhaps a little older. So what exactly makes these people think they are done “evolving”? When I was that age I had liberal tendancies and I was not convinced that religion had merit. It’s part of life. college is when you question those ideals. Eventually you grow up, start a faimly, get a jobs, and realize that there are more important things in life than you. The second I had a baby, I became a conservative and knew that God was real. Then I became a conservative republican. It is unfortunate that this report does not clarify that these people are not done “evolving”, and probably will not follow any further evolution of the group.

Quite well said, short and piercing. Those people like to claim that all war is due to religious fervor, but they always exclude their own religion, progressivism. Progressives never consider the millions of souls that were extinguished because they were impediments to progressive machinations.

There is individual accomplishment and group advancement.
For a *tribe* to excel it helps if there is intelligent gene pool distribution, but isn’t size important too?
Has anyone ever determined if one bright citizen was more beneficial than a dozen semi-bright members of a group?

I try to judge intelligence by it’s results, not idle theories.

Marxism is just an academic veneer for envy. Marx’s also hated the concept of “God”. No ideal archetypes need apply in the true commune, just don’t display unique talents are they will kill you.

One thought. The study seems to suggest that as one changes from conservative to liberal one gets smarter. Since most of us were more liberal when we were in college, the world is clearly going to hell in a basket. Funny now looking back on my college years I cannot understand how naive/dumb I was back then. My dad tried to tell me, but I would not listen.
Needless to say this is one of those studies designed around the available data - like looking for your lost keys under the streetlight. Quite sad really.
