You mean there are states that have a state income tax?
Seriesly?
Glad I live in Texas.
It took only a month for the refund check on a paper return in Louisiana to arrive.

well to pay to maintain infrasturcture schools etc...you either pay income tax or property tax....or tolls...or fines...or whatever.
but here in NY they do it all.
You must rent. I lived in Texas 17 years....my property taxes on my house went from $600 to $1800 to $3600 to $4800 dollars in 8 years in Ft. Worth. I paid $21 for property taxes last year. You can keep Texas and their "no state tax".
Ditto. My Fed. refund is sitting in the bank already.
They get you in other ways... How are your property taxes?
As long as we keep people like Bill White out.
Same thing with Tennessee but unfortunately, my wife works in MS and we have to file a non-resident income tax.
“You mean there are states that have a state income tax?”
California, with a top rate of 11%.
Having Proposition 13 keeping property taxes low makes me very happy paying State incomr tax!

We get the bonus in NC. We have one of the highest incomes rates in the South AND one of the hightest sales taxes in the South.
Everyone knows you can tax your way to prosperity.
South Dakota’s looking pretty good now, too! No income tax, and sales tax is only 4%. Of course, you always have to be on the lookout for dangerous herds of jackalopes...
