well to pay to maintain infrasturcture schools etc...you either pay income tax or property tax....or tolls...or fines...or whatever.
but here in NY they do it all.

Most states do it all, from what I’ve experienced. Either way, the state will get the money from you, but filling out the income tax forms can be a pain in the neck!

Texas' property tax is at least 3 times that of California's. At least, it was when we lived in Corpus 5 years ago. And it was rising every year. Made it so that even with paying state income tax in CA, we still pay less in taxes.
They getcha one way or the other. Except perhaps in Nevada. Their property tax is also capped at 1% and cannot be ihcreased except by voter mandate. And no state income tax either.

Right - ‘cause you also have to pay for bribery, graft, corruption (unions.)
