In perhaps the worst possible development for the radical left since the discovery of Karl Rove's now infamous "Weather Machine," Governor Palin's recently exposed top secret "laugh track" machine appears to also have even more dastardly powers than were originally feared. In addition to altering the space-time continuum, and reprogramming the master computers at NBC to cause laughter during Sarah's monologue to appear where none had been before, and send well-intentioned jeers and "groans" from her wannabe stalkers into the abyss this mysterious device apparently also exerts some kind of irresistible mind control powers over the loyal fans of "American Idol" megastar Adam Lambert, causing many of them to actually like the producer of the upcoming new "Alaska Valley Days" TV series, Governor Sarah Palin.
Or, at least, that's what the Kos Kids would like you to believe.
Many of those wacky ultra-left "conspiracy-mongers" who post at such online cesspools as the Daily Kos, Huffpo and DU have been foaming at the mouth all week about Sarah's "rock star" performance during for last week's taping of "Day Two" of Jay Leno's return to the traditional 11:35 pm time slot for the "Tonight Show."
Since I was actually in the studio audience last week when Governor Palin made her "comedy debut" with a small band of "Palin palm print"-bearing FReepers (and FRiends) who had crashed the party with the intention of acting as "Ed McMahon" to Sarah's "Johnny Carson" I call BS on their widely-reported, but easily-debunked, "laugh track" conspiracy theory.
In my not so humble opinion, however, the REAL "back story" behind last week's studio audience, which has naturally NOT been covered in the "State-Controlled Media" was that a huge percentage of that relatively "pro-Palin" audience last week were "glamberts" that is, hard core fans of "American Idol" singer Adam Lambert, whom many music lovers view as a contemporary reincarnation of Elvis. (Or, perhaps Liberace.)
In this thread, which will serve as the "after action" report for our recent Leno FReep, I intend to explore this strange and very unexpected (to me) twist on the controversial "big tent" philosophy of the new Republican party. And that strange new twist is, many Adam Lambert fans support Sarah Palin!
I am particularly interested in hearing on this thread from ADAM LAMBERT FANS who support Sarah Palin, but I would also like to hear from CONSERVATIVES who may have reservations about welcoming this new group of Palin supporters, many of whom have been NOT previously been engaged (or informed) in the political arena.
Personally, I like the concept of "My tent, my rules."
That is, we welcome the electoral support of just about ANYBODY but only on OUR terms. I believe that the conservative political movement should be like America itself: everyone is welcome here IF you agree to certain fundamental, non-negotiable principles.
Please post YOUR comments and opinions about Sarah Palin and the "glamberts" here.
Thank you,
RonDog
We can be grateful that he is unseasoned; otherwise, his presidency would be even more lethal than it is. Like the disfunctional Kennedy clan, his ideology was hidden behind his media-friendly looks and a dumbed-down public easily manipulated by media imagery.
But you don’t really know unless he dresses like Liza’s husband!
Excuse me (0+ / 0-)
I never said anyone was lying. I suggested that the diarist's memories may be inaccurate and he may not have had a complete picture of what was going on around him. This happens to even the best-trained observers (and I have no reason to believe that the diarist is such).
No doubt, if you were listening for it, you might have heard groans, boos, sarcastic laughter, moments of silence -- and that might impress you as the most salient features of the soundscape.
But that doesn't mean they actually were.
Personal impressions, particularly when skewed by a strong emotional bias, are not a match for good old data.
Now, it seems to me quite possible and even likely that they mixed the sound so as to mute any boos or catcalls, and enhance any applause. That's credible and to some extent even defensible, from a commercial point of view -- I'm sure Leno doesn't want to add fuel to the impression that he and his show are deeply unpopular.
But the diarist is claiming that they went beyond that -- that they ripped out all the audience tracks and replaced them with canned laughter. And while that's certainly not unprecedented, or technologically unfeasible, it's a rather serious charge and I would want more evidence from it than a series of impressions. Did anybody ask the studio? Interview the sound technicians? Get any kind of statement at all?
In the absence of an effort to verify these impressions, such claims could backfire, if it turns out that the aired audio is in fact based on the studio tapes.
P.S.: As I've said before, I am in no way or sense "pro-Sarah". You need to take care of that knee-jerk reflex before you injure yourself with it.
Yes, the studio has been asked (1+ / 0-)

Washington Post interviewed us both, plus more experts on audio. Watch for the story!
You bring up reasonable points, but I echo what Symbolman said - I was there - and I distinctly remember wondering why the Palin supporters weren't laughing at her jokes at certain places. She was uncomfortable, and I think the audience picked up on that and was nervous and uncomfortable, too.
Dang I saw Palin on the tonight show, but I missed her on dancing with the stars!
He has toned down his dislike for her lately, but it still seethes in his soul.
IMO it doesn't matter if Palin runs for President or not.
I don't see where she has ever obligated herself to do so.
She will not lose her support base, and will continue to be strong Conservative force here in our Constitutional Republic.
You bet your sweet bippy! Look that up in your Funk and Wagnalls!
I didn’t have time to view it earlier and wanted to come back to it.
And great After Action Report.
Nice to see you sorting out all of the flotsam and jetsam in the media and on the www.
That was very, very, well said.
We now know ten times more about Palin’s show business career than we know about Obama’s qualifications to be POTUS.
Better check the responses to your post or next week you’re going to be REALLY late for work or miss a lot of your shows on TV ... ;-)
Yep!!
Do you remember Reagan? He was very serious about his conservatism but funny and lighthearted.

Do we remember Bonzo? After he had acted opposite a chimp, he couldn’t possibly be a serious man. And I don’t remember Reagan having a 2 million copy bestseller under his belt before running for president.
Yep, count me in as a huge Sarah Palin and Adam Lambert fan. I am both politically and socially conservative, but I can appreciate the phenomenal vocals given to Lambert as a gift from God. It may surprise many of you to know that a huge percentage of Adam’s fans are women over 40.
What bad decisions ?
she is trying to be mainstream
This is breaking news?It was for a while EARLY this morning, and then was not -- later.
And now, apparently, now it is -- again!
Thank you, "second shift" Mods!
What makes you think she is not serious ? Have you read her Facebook posts, her OP Eds. her speeches ?
she is doing all of that and she is building credibility. I think she is trying to be mainstream and break free from the Evangelical, tight as a drum, stuck back in the 1800s stereotype. shes trying to show people that she is modern
See post #96......It’s not just me.....Other diehard Palin supporters feel the same way......NEVER did I mention that she should be expected to be mistake free......
