This part is particularly damning:

"Looked at another way, the state has lost 1.36 million payroll jobs, or 9 percent of its workforce, since employment peaked at 15.2 million in July 2007."

"As of January, just 13.8 million Californians were collecting paychecks."

They're financing that huge welfare state on the backs of only 13.8 million people.

So, what about the out-flux of producers?

I just checked. Per Google and the Census Bureau, there are 36,961,664 people in California... of which more then 23.1 million must be on WELFARE and therefore do not pay taxes.

Broken much?

Well, something like 60% of their population don’t work. Since it’s California, almost nobody but the illegals has kids and the place is too expensive for old people to live there, so that won’t mitigate that much.

For some *strange* reason, they’re not talking about that. I wonder why... no, wait, I don’t.

Apparently there’s a proposal out there now to charge people departing the state for good an ‘exit tax’ of some kind.

On the other hand, they might be “cookin’ the books”.

I have a reunion coming up in Seattle and I will be one of the few conservatives there. 2 families will come up from San Diego. I’ll bet not a word is spoken about politics.

Welcome! Unless I'm very mistaken, I think you're going to find Texas to be to your liking. No place is perfect but ``I've seen a lot of places...God Blessed Texas...'' by Little Texas.

Right before you leave, you should mention that you hope this was the change they voted for. :D

Possibly, but if anything it’d be in the other direction. I’d say they actually have far more (illegal) population than the census thinks. I would guess it’s more like 45-50 million out there - and I don’t think they’d cook the books on the number of people getting a paycheck, that’s too easy to check with the IRS.

Good Thought. I’ll keep 44 cents in my pocket and ask anyone if they voted for change. The first dumbass that pipes up gets it.

Governmental control over ALL HEALTH CARE is FAR more important than any squabble over "jobs".

Jobs, schmobs..............who cares?

November will hopefully bring the biggest DimocRAT landslide in the history of politics.

I don't need to read the article.

All one needs to do is drive around the once Golden State (pick anywhere, any time) and you will see a severely depressed economy.

Look at retail stores, golf courses, marinas, auto repair shops, auto dealers (this is especially true for GM which is less desirable than scabies)...any where.

The Dems did a fantastic job undermining the state's economy, but they don't know that the Keynesian fairy tails can't fix it.

In other words, I wish I had better news; however, the job market has NOT hit bottom in California.

.

I am having a reunion with left coast family tree who wondered why the Smoky Mountains didn’t charge money. The scenery was great and they “knew” the gov could do it. (This was in the 80’s)

Most articles with “may” in the headline aren’t worth the time to read them.
