HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - Connecticut lawmakers are considering a bill that would allow people to carry stun guns for personal protection.
State law now allows the device popularly known as Tasers to be kept in someone's home.
A representative of the device manufacturer told a public hearing of the General Assembly's Public Safety Committee on Thursday that customers from the state want to carry their Tasers with them when they feel most vulnerable.
Peter Holran of Scottsdale, Arizona-based Taser International Inc. estimates more than 200,000 citizens are currently carrying the devices in the U.S.
Sen. Andrea Stillman, the committee co-chairwoman, expressed concerns about the safety of the stun guns. Human rights groups claim Tasers cause heart attacks.
Taser International disagrees, but told police last year not to fire the devices at suspects' chests, saying there was a small risk of ill effects on the heart.
How about beebers?
Awww, isn’t that nice. The State is willing to “allow” people to provide for their own personal protection. That’s odd because I have always considered the right to protect themselves to be a Natural Law, emanating from the creator. So to the State of Connecticut I say BUGGER OFF! You POS. You can’t restrict that right nor can you grant it!
I, Liberty, give you full permission to protect yourselves. The lying bastards who took freedoms from you are not the authority on your self protection...I AM!
Why, that’s mighty white of them.
“Human rights groups claim tasers cause heart attacks”
Yes, and and rifles ventilate extra holes in bad guys. So what?
why would I need a taser at home when I could have a shotgun?
So you can claim you TRIED to resuscitate the guy (while you were really just having fun!)
How very Liberal of them.
SEC. 15. Every citizen has a right to bear arms in defense of himself and the state.
Constitution of the State of Connecticut, Article First, SEC. 15.
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
Amendment II, Constitution for the United States of America
Ya twit, if people are worried about their safety, they ought not to go committing acts that will cause their would be victim to shock the shiite out of them.
Now I prefer punching .45" holes in them, larger if using hollow points of course, but YMMV.
