Despite steep odds, the White House has discussed prospects for reviving a major overhaul of the nation's immigration laws, a commitment that President Obama has postponed once already. Obama took up the issue privately with his staff Monday in a bid to advance a bill through Congress before lawmakers become too distracted by approaching midterm elections. In the session, Obama and members of his Domestic Policy Council outlined ways to resuscitate the effort in a White House meeting with two senators -- Democrat Charles E. Schumer of New York and Republican Lindsey Graham of South Carolina -- who have spent months trying to craft a bill. According to a person familiar with the meeting, the White House may ask Schumer and Graham to at least produce a blueprint that could be turned into legislative language. The basis of a bill would include a path toward citizenship for the 10.8 million people living in the U.S. illegally. Citizenship would not be granted lightly, the White House said. Undocumented workers would need to register, pay taxes and pay a penalty for violating the law. Failure to comply might result in deportation.

Lindsey Graham Meets With Obama White House to Plan Next Amnesty Bill
One can’t help but wonder, whats in it for Lindsey?
1 billion dinero.
John Cornyn called “a fence or a wall at the border a 19th-century solution to a 21st-century problem. ... Can’t people just go around it?”
Good point, but he is stupid enough to try.
When is Cornball up for reelection again so that Texans can hand him the pink slip?
Interesting timing, our church’s guitarist just said he wants to organize a pro-illegal march... much to my pastor’s dismay. So which group is organizing this? The timing is too close to be coincidence.
Of course. It’s been the plan all along....
“This is why we have to elect Kirk. This crap would never reach the Senate with a GOP majority.”
It did before, thanks to Bush/McCain/Graham.
“One cant help but wonder, whats in it for Lindsey?”
Is there a list of contributors to Linseed?
I guess he’s going to try to ram this through before November too. I didn’t think I could dislike that Marxist POS any more than I do but he’s proving that wrong every day.
Amnesty didn’t pass under Bush. And there is no way Mitch McConnell would let this crap happen.
"[Conservatives are] going to destroy the f*cking [Republican] party...
Why would I want to be the leader of a party of such a**holes?"
U.S. SEN. JOHN MCCAIN, UNKNOWN
"I think the Democratic Party is a fine party, and I have
no problems with it, in their views and their philosophy."
U.S. SEN. JOHN MCCAIN, 02 APR. 2004
"I have to tell you, [Obama] is a decent person, a person that you
do not have to be scared [of] as president of the United States."
U.S. SEN. JOHN MCCAIN, 10 OCT. 2008
"In the long term, if you alienate the Hispanics, youll pay a heavy price.
By the way, I think the fence is least effective.
But Ill build the g***amned fence if they want it."
U.S. SEN. JOHN MCCAIN, FEB. 2007
McAmnesty may finally have to be put in that straight jacket we have expected him to be carried away in for so long.
Yes, Obummer, bring up your amnesty proposal. Shoot yourself in the other foot. Before the November elections please, and, better yet, before the August primaries.
BUMP
My comment was directed toward the millions of Americans who don’t believe the enemy could reach the white house. They put too much trust in politicians who are loyal only to themselves and who can be bought cheap. Political correctness and complacency will bring us down.
“Amnesty didnt pass under Bush. And there is no way Mitch McConnell would let this crap happen.”
It didn’t pass because CONSERVATIVES raised holy hell about it.
And McConnell....he will do nothing to stop amnesty.(Unless republicans raise hell with him too!) Check his record, and his liberal wife, who stumped for Bush’s amnesty as secty of labor.

Voted in favor of bill to increase immigration and grant amnesty to illegal aliens in 2006
Sen. McConnell voted in favor of final passage of S. 2611, the Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act of 2006.
Voted for huge increase in 1990
Sen. McConnell helped pass in 1990 that increased the numbers in all categories of immigration. Americas immigration tradition had been around 250,000 immigrants a year until the 1980s when numbers rose dramatically to more than 500,000 a year. After Sen. McConnell voted in 1990 in favor of raising limits, immigration has now snowballed to around 1,000,000 (one million) a year, contributing the majority of U.S. population and labor growth, congestion and sprawl.

This was all I could find. I find it veryinteresting that energy companies are some of his top donors as he is for cap-and-trade. Hmmmm....

Actually it is a lot worse than that...they have huge numbers of children (our schools here are overwhelmed here), so you can multiply that number by 3 or 4, certainly within one generation, we will have 90 to 120 million Hispanic Democrat voters. That will insure a permanent entitlement-socialist USA.
We’ve been blessed with stupid political enemies.
This wasn’t popular when unemployment was 5%.
It will be hugely unpopular with unemployment where it is today...
Well then we are in more trouble than I ever thought. Guess we are screwed either way.
