President Obama's advisers are nearing a recommendation that Khalid Sheik Mohammed, the self-proclaimed mastermind of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, be prosecuted in a military tribunal, administration officials said, a step that would reverse Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr.'s plan to try him in civilian court in New York City.
The president's advisers feel increasingly hemmed in by bipartisan opposition to a federal trial in New York and demands, mainly from Republicans, that Mohammed and his accused co-conspirators remain under military jurisdiction, officials said. While Obama has favored trying some terrorism suspects in civilian courts as a symbol of U.S. commitment to the rule of law, critics have said military tribunals are the appropriate venue for those accused of attacking the United States.

Well, knock me over with a feather! Still, I'm not holding my breath--I think this is just a diversionary tactic away from Obamacare!

Wow, this will really upset Prince Alwaleed, the Saudi who allegedly paid Omoslem’s Harvard Law tuition.

Next thing you know, they'll re-open Gitmo.
Oh, wait... they never closed it. This guy Obama is a laugh-a-minute. Just like Jimmy Carter was. |

Military tribunals? That is absolutely brilliant of Obama to think of this. It’s a shame that President Bush never came up with the idea of military tribunals.

Just want to reply in the positive on your post. I have to hit the rack and get up early for work. Obi from Nairobi is like a weed in the wind. He bends with the prevailing wind. But good in this case. The goons should be tried and given extremely long prison terms and in a few cases put to death by military courts. Next. Let us see if Obi shall throw Eric under the buss and opt to keep Gitmo open for the many obvious reasons many of us can elaborate on.
Again. Time for me to hit the rack. I will not be available for comments for some time.
