South Africa black-owned farms 'failing' (90%

Some 90% of farms redistributed to South Africa's black population from white farmers are not productive, the government has said. Land reform minister Gugile Nkwinti warned the land might be repossessed if the farms continued to fail. Almost 60,000 sq km (23,000 sq miles) have been redistributed under policies aimed at benefiting black people who were left impoverished by apartheid. The land was bought from white farmers who sold up voluntarily. The BBC's Pumza Fihlani in Johannesburg says some black farmers are likely to argue that they have been struggling to get the resources and skills to develop their land. And repossessing the land would provide a whole new problem for the government, our correspondent says, as any move to return the land to its former white owners is bound to be controversial.

Is there a place run by blacks that is not failing?

Many of the worst cities in US have Black mayors.

And the POTUS ... (Do I really need to say it?)

It’s obvious they don’t know how to manage a farm, maybe....just maybe......the farms shouldn’t be confiscated and given to people JUST because of their race. Maybe competency counts for something too.

"If you gave these blacks a country to run, they would run it down the tubes." - Arnold Schwarzenegger

Arnold never had much faith in majority rule for South Africa.

Somewhere down the road I can see Zimbabwe and South Africa doing deals with the ChiComs where they supply Chinese overseers to run and rationalize the agricultural sectors. China would love to send millions of its excess men to Africa and away from China where they could lead fomentation and riots due to the slowing Chinese economy

China could say to a young couple — “Settle Africa and you can have as many children as you like”

"No...some things are understood unsaid. "

Some things are understood unsaid by SOME of the people... the others deny the obvious, but they really understand too.

It is already happening. I read a NYT article on it in 2008.

If we all came ‘out of Africa’, then why aren’t whites allowed as much property right in Africa as any one else?

A good majority of blacks have been coddled and shielded from criticism and bred in the mindset that they are owed just because of who they are that they never set out to achieve anything on their own. The result is a population of under achievers generation after generation.

The government had set a target of 2014 to redistribute one-third of white-owned land back to the black majority.

"back"??
What on earth is that about?

There are articles I’ve read that when Mandela dies, there will be a call for the genocide of all Anglos left there, sort of a Rwanda-type machete slaughering. It’s called “Uhuru”.
~~~
Sounds just like O’Bammy’s Mau Mau squads now don’t it?,,,
The fun will start when “Uhuru” gets close to one of those
whitey owned mines...
It is not clear if the formerly white-owned farms were broken up or conveyed to blacks intact. If the farms were broken up, a number of basic laws of economics would come into play. First of all any new black owner would have a steep learning curve to climb. After climbing the learning curve the black owners would meet face to to face with the concept of economies of scale. Socialists have the fantastic insolence to ignore well established economic principles.
“Do you mean crops don’t grow all by themselves? < / sarcasm >”
/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Yes, they do ALL the growing on their own...but furnishing the right soil conditions, water etc. along with planting and harvesting adds up to one heck of a lot of work.
Been there, done that, the hard way, couldn’t afford the damned T-shirt!
Was the black population really “impoverished by apartheid”? They were “impoverished” in Western terms when the Europeans arrived and started creating farms, weren’t they? I’ve always had the impression that most of the Blacks now in South Africa weren’t native to the area, but came there to settle because living on the fringes of European society was more stable than living the nomadic lives they had lived in other places. Does anybody with more knowledge than me know if I am right?
