Rep. Eric Massa (D-NY) held a conference call with no questions to announce his retirement. Massa says he is retiring because of cancer and denied rumors that he sexually harassed a male aide.

Uh. . . okay.
I am going to (just gut instinct) side with Massa at this point. The complaint was probably from someone who felt “uncomfortable” with bad language or dirty jokes or something and complained that they were being sexually harassed.
I don't care for that stuff myself, but I would have told him privately that I was offended and if it continued I would have looked for new employment. But welcome to the new world of sensitivity!
I doubt the rumors would be as they are, were that so.
he was just tapping his toe
.
I never understood that toe-tapping thing. What does that mean?

I agree fully. “Sexual Harassment” covers a lot of ground, and it could mean using coarse language. For example, perhaps the staffer is gay, and was offended by crude jokes. That’s sexual harassment.
Thanks for the info.
She threatened others.
No one in the office ever spoke in her presence again and eventually she just drifted off somwhere else.
I always wondered just what it was she did in her own sex life that made "S..T" so terribly important to her. Wanted to ask her that too.
Maybe he should have ‘peppered’ his ‘salty’ language with some ‘MSG’ (salt substitute).
BWA-HA-HA.
Oh. Nevermind. Just in one of those corny moods this evening.
Another one bites the dust....
Body count is rising.
Massa fired a gay man who had served on his election campaign staff, after that man was alleged to have served liquor to some underage boys, during a racous party that caused damage to a shop below the apartment where the events took place. Massa fired the guy and his campaign paid $3,000 for the damages to the shop.
Is it possible that the staffer making the allegations against Massa now was a friend of the gay man Massa fired, and working with other Dim’s in the legislature, these allegations are “pay back”?
I have no idea if I am right, but if that was the case, Massa would be better off NOT resigning, and taking the heat until the full story is made public.
Idaho Senator Larry Craig was visiting a public restroom in the Minneapolis/St. Paul airport when he was arrested for pandering. Apparently the signal is to sit in a toilet stall, wait for someone to sit down in the one next door, move your feet under the barrier and tap your toe. A response means that an assignation has been made, either for there (don't ask) or elsewhere.
We were informed through this incident that whistling in a restroom is another trolling signal. I must say that I haven't whistled in a restroom since.
Don't think of this as gross and disgusting, think of it as a cultural "teaching moment." That's gross and disgusting.
I agree. I posted on an earlier thread that just because the issue is ‘sexual harassment’ doesn’t necessarily mean the any of the parties is gay. Sexual harassment is a very, very wide net and it includes a lot of fairly minor stuff. Salty language too.
I never did get the whole toe-tapping bidness. I’ve been in a lot of airports, and along with that a fair number of airport restrooms. I just can’t fathom an *airport* restroom as a venue for any sort of friskyness. They’re freaking *busy* pretty much 24/7. I don’t get it...
