The only way the House will have a prayer of passing the Senate bill is if conservative House RATS are promised that there will then be “fixes” to the original Senate bill on provisions such as the liberal abortion language.
They would be nuts to accept such promises, especially given that such provisions are not eligible for reconciliation, but you know how it goes.

The “one time” tax on retirements was originally floated by the Clinton Administration in ‘93 and it didn’t go anywhere. Think about it; you have $100,000 in your 401k today. The government says you now owe $15,000. How do you get it? You have to sell off the assets. You and everyone else. What happens when everyone tries to liquidate 15% of the market? It will trigger the greatest stock crash of all time, making the 1929 and 2008 look like little “corrections.”
There is some issue with this being a “taking” under the 5th Amendment. I doubt it would be Constitutional, but with the judges we have now the Constitution is really just a scrap of paper.

Oh, I dont think theyll regret anything. They already plan on losing the election. They want their Socialist agenda in place. Once they get that, they know its there forever and they will get control of the House and Senate again. Probably within a few election cycles.Bingo!

Forget the tar, break out the guillotines!
I'm thinking something less violent, but equally effective. They like ramming pork down our throats. We need to get 535 pigs, pain the representative's and senator's names on them, and turn them loose on the capital lawn. It would make our point, get on all the TV stations, shut down DC for a day (the timer is running and every day we shut them down is one day closer to the day congress adjourns). We need a tea party in DC as big as the one last year, but we have a lot less time to put it together. And we need a gimmick so that the press has to cover it.

2010 will be a bloodbath, not to mention 2012. I hope lawyers already have briefs prepared for the SCOTUS on the unconstitutionality of this bill, and the included provisions preventing 'roll backs' or dissolution by subsequent administrations.
Can't wait to see Sarah's facebook post on this!

They will need a 2/3s vote to override a guaranteed Obama veto. It will never happen.
Then shut the government down until he signs it. Call his bluff. Tell Obama to sing the repeal or start the revolution, his call.

Can’t Republicans propose amendment after amendment to stall this thing? Rick Santorum was talking about this last night on Greta’s show... he called it a “Vote-a-Rama”.

I don’t think they do, either. Look at the way it’s playing out. The Pelousi is telling the GReid: “tell us when you have the votes for reconciliation” and GReid responds with “you pass it first and then we’ll pass it with reconciliation.”
They are both standing on the edge of the cliff saying “you jump first, I’ll follow.”
If they had the votes, they would just schedule the vote and be done with it. I don’t think they have the votes.

Bloodbath is the right word, rintense.
I don't think they'll succeed in getting this passed, but the fact that they are ignoring the economy, jobs, and everything the American people care about, to ram it through is going to destroy them.
Ditto on Sarah's facebook page. :)
