To meet the Obama administration’s targets for increasing fuel taxes, researchers say that Americans will have to pay $7 for a gallon of gasoline; about 17 percent more than drivers in green-conscious and generally highly taxed Sweden.In their study, researchers at Harvard’s Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs devised several combinations of tax increases to address 70 percent of the oil used in the United States. The combinations were selected to match fuel consumption reduction targets. Most of their models assumed an economy-wide carbon dioxide tax starting at $30 a ton in 2010 and escalating to $60 a ton in 2030. In some cases researchers also factored in tax credits for electric and hybrid vehicles, taxes on fuel or both.

If they do that, the Dems will not get elected for about thirty to forty years. Nobody, not even most average Dems, like high gas prices. Dems where I live, western Wisconsin, are not like the libs who infest Berkeley and Cambridge (although we do have Madison). When the price of gas goes over three dollars, a howling will arise from the masses. Whoever is in charge will be in deep fecal matter.

The funny thing about O'Rielly is that he says this stuff even while admitting he was wrong on his prior evaluations of Obama. I think he has great difficulty in wrapping his brain around the simple concept that a President can hate the U.S. and the Constitution.

The Salem Oregon Police Department reports finding a man's body in the Willamette River, just west of the Marion Bridge. The dead man's name will not be released until his family has been notified. The victim apparently drowned due to excessive intoxication. He was wearing black fishnet stockings, a red garter belt, a strap-on sexual device, and an Obama T-shirt. The police removed the Obama T-shirt to spare his family any unnecessary embarrassment.

Not true, unless they plan on separate pumps for those who make over $250k a year. Obama promised me that he wouldn’t raise taxes on those who make under $250k, and a whole lot of people on the road make less than that amount. Even people who don’t drive at all buy food from the grocery store, and that store has to pay truck drivers who make less than $250k and the truckers pay for gasoline/diesel and pass that cost along. Surely Obama wouldn’t lie to me, would he?
I generally assume that worries about "what if the socialists don't plan on facing the voters again" are overstated or general agitation, but sometimes I wonder. With their plan to ram socialized medicine through against the will of most Americans, and now this, I'm not feeling as comfortable that they will continue pretending to give the rule of law token respect. The reason they want us disarmed is so that they have the option of using force to impose their ideas "for our benefit". They may be much closer to that point than I would have guessed.

I have known for decades that our government would sooner or later try to raise the gas taxes to European levels, seeing that the masses in Europe have accepted them without revolt.
Obama may keep that promise. Do you know how? If the government keeps printing unbacked paper money, we will ALL be earning more than $250k, and maybe 250 million, or 250 trillion. Just like in Zimbabwe. Does anyone believe it can't happen here? Events of the past year should dispel any doubts.
