Poor Charlie, the people in Harlem are not going to like this treatment from Congress. They depend on Charlie for everything up there.
One of his big backers over the years was one Jack French Kemp. A lot of Republicans have gone out of their way to court Charlie’s favor. They must see something that we don’t.
Pure pander.
Well, whaddyaknow ?????? His skull ISN’T
made of concrete.
Rangel should be in a jail cell with Turbo Tax Timmy.
He’s not going to give it up at all . Slap on the wrist at best. When he does quit he will be a millionaire with stolen taxpayers money and he won’t serve a day in jail. If that was you and me we’d be in jail for 10 lifetimes. He’s a pig if I ever saw one. Folks up in Harlem are still all bullshitted that whitey is the one robbing them .
I’ll bet BO called it. Probably said it is distracting from his healthcare push.
The heat is on. Nasty Pelosi flew commercial into Denver and out for her appearence in Broomfield, CO. Whad up wid dat? No private plane? We just paid a little less is all.
HOW DID HE GET TO BE A MILLIONAIRE? Apparently Rangel has two bank accounts (that we know of) with $500,000 in each. Not counting what he's got stashed in offshore accounts.........he did not go to the Carib for the sun. Carib is a known money laundering haven.
Let's look at his earmarks.
And can Rangel prove where he spent $2 million from Congressional allocations, plus another $700,000 from the Dept of HUD) that went to the tax-exempt Charles B. Rangel Center for Public Service at City College of New York?
The NY Times reported oil-drilling businessman Eugene Isenberg made a $1 million pledge toward building The Rangel School for Public Service. Rangel later preserved a controversial offshore tax loophole that saved millions for Isenbergs company.
The Isenberg-Nabors deal is, potentially, far more serious: It reeks of a quid pro quo between Rangels official duties and fund-raising for his personal project.
The Times reported that Rangel held meetings the same day, at the same hotel, with Isenberg to discuss the CCNY project and then with Nabors chief lobbyist on the tax loophole.
“Apparently Rangel has two bank accounts (that we know of) with $500,000 in each. Not counting what he’s got stashed in offshore accounts.........he did not go to the Carib for the sun. Carib is a known money laundering haven.”
I remember a meeting I had with a real estate developer back in the mid 1980’s........
Dev: “ If you get a 30 or 40 million construction loan, and don’t steal 2 million out of the proceeds, shame on YOU! “
Now I understand what “ways and means” is ;-)
Its about time...been watching this clown for a long time. One down..a whole bunch to go.
WASHINGTONRep. Charles Rangel appeared poised to lose the chairmanship of the powerful House tax-writing committee as dozens of Democrats said they would support a Republican resolution urging him to step down, senior congressional aides said Tuesday.
As many as 30 House Democrats could join 178 House Republicans in voting to oust Mr. Rangel as head of the Ways and Means Committee, the aides said, a substantially higher number than in previous votes on his removal. Mr. Rangel, a New York Democrat, has been battling a series of ethics charges in recent months. Last week, the House ethics committee found he broke congressional rules by not properly disclosing trips to the Caribbean that were paid for by companies.
With Democratic opposition on the rise, Mr. Rangel met late Tuesday with senior House Democrats, including Speaker Nancy Pelosi. The party leaders told Mr. Rangel they didn't think he had enough votes to survive a vote on the House floor, according to an aide.
In the meeting, Mr. Rangel refused to quit as chairman of the Ways and Means Committee and instead said he'd think overnight about the matter before deciding whether to step down or face an uncertain vote.
After the one-hour meeting broke, Mr. Rangel told reporters he would stay on.
“You bet your life,” he said. Pressed further, Mr. Rangel, raising his voice, said emphatically: “Yes, and I don't lie to the press.” Ms. Pelosi’s office declined to comment.

LOLOL!!!
“Boy the blowback on Nancy must be really bad”
Her popularity could plummet from 10 to 8...
Of course it would be far better political theatre to watch the Chinese water torture of dripping votes on CSPAN and see him stripped of the chairmanship. All the while watching the Dimrats trying to explain why they voted for the tax-cheatin’ bribed pompous balloon.
Ladies and Gentlemen, We Got’im.
Thanks for the ping.
Good. One down hundreds to go.
