Harold Ford: Democrats are 'scared'

Former Rep. Harold Ford Jr. said Tuesday that Democrats are “scared” heading into this fall’s election and that he decided not to run for the Senate from New York because he feared his party would lose the seat after a tough primary.

“The fall is going to be a tough, tough fall for whatever Democrat emerges,” Ford said during an appearance on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” his first since announcing Monday night that he is not running. “It would have been a tough brutal fight.”

Ford also indicated that Republican Sen. Scott Brown’s win in Massachusetts made a Republican win in New York possible.

“They’re scared,” he said of the state’s Democratic establishment. “For anyone to believe our normal messaging will win this election … they are kidding themselves.”

Fear is an amazing thing. Lets hope that it causes a good rather than a bad outcome.

Did not Ford just announce that he would not be running against Gillibrand? Ironic.

"But Ford offered little support to the candidate he would have challenged"

Because really he wants Gillebrand to lose. This is a special election. I believe whoever wins this seat will have to run in 2 years. He wants to run then when perhaps conditions will be more favorable for him. I doubt it, but that's what he thinks.

Hmm, that’s an excellent point and explains his lack of support for her.

So Ford is *scared* and his *fearful* Democrat buddies are *afraid* that a *fear-mongering* primary would result in a *frightful* GOP win.

Now that is scary;)

They’re scared but are continuing to try to feed the country a 55 gallon drum of Alpo. OK.

They better be mighty scared. The liberal/socialist Democrats tried to take over America and thought We The People were too stupid to see it coming. Now, the fight is on, and We The People don’t excect to lose. So liberal/ socialists start packing!

If I was a democrat I wouldn’t be scared, I would be pissed at Obama for losing Teddy’s seat. Harold Ford may be scared but I don’t think that he speaks for all democrats.
