FORT WORTH, Texas | Former President George W. Bush turned to his faith amid the tough times during his eight years in office, he said Saturday at a religious school's banquet.
"I don't see how I could be president without prayer," he told the crowd of more than 1,100 at the Fort Worth Christian School event at a downtown hotel. "The prayers of the people ... sustained me, comforted me and strengthened me in a way I could have never predicted before becoming president, and for that I am extremely grateful."
Bush, who has had many speaking engagements since moving to Dallas after his presidency, said he doesn't plan on staying in the public eye.
"You won't see me out there opining ... or criticizing my successor," Bush said...

Many things I could say about this man, but nobody can credibly deny that the man has class.

It’s hard to criticize another progressive who is continuing your policies...
Then again, there is a LOT one could say about the horror and failure of Obama...so it’s good Bush is keeping mum. He still has class.

Can anyone deny that powerful forces are moving us toward a one world government?
If that is conceded, what was GWB’s role?
Was it Christian?

It comes down to personality. I will never forget the 2004 vice-presidential debate where Cheney completely dismantled Edwards. He did it so methodically and quietly, it was scary.

as usual Bush lets the left demonize him and we have to live with the results.
for once this guy needs to stand up from himself and his party and his convictions.
being noble and standing silent is the environment that Chavez, Castro , Hitler, and now obama can breed without any interference !

Don’t suppose gutter wipes like Carter would take the hint.
On the other hand, Bush showing a little leadership for the Repubs would be nice. Otherwise he is just another McCain.

It’s a true American classic.

Class is the only word needed.
To: meandog
He will get Cheney to do it for him.

I praise Bush for his beliefs... but he was a miserable failure due to his refusal to confront the evil that was constantly attacking him... and it is a crime that he does not critique hussein... it is a major reason as to why his administration was so unpopular... had he only fought back.
