My point is not a one of the the current crop have the interest of the pineywoods at heart. They are all controlled by the Houston area. Our District is 60%+ houston based voters. I’m saying that the redistricting could have taken the pineywoods counties into a distict and not been subservant to Houston as we all are today.
Income tax is prohibited in Texas per Constitution (1993 amendment) and can ONLY be added back with a public vote.
Perry has done nothing to kick Washington out or anull their illegal legislation. He’s all talk and no action. It’s time to let someone else try.
I voted Medina. I know she won’t win, but that’s a vote to force Washington to adhere to the U.S. Constitution: especially the 2nd, 9th, and 10th amendment.
When a government has ceased to protect the lives, liberty and property of the people, from whom its legitimate powers are derived, and for the advancement of whose happiness it was instituted, and so far from being a guarantee for the enjoyment of those inestimable and inalienable rights, becomes an instrument in the hands of evil rulers for their oppression.
When the Federal Republican Constitution of their country, which they have sworn to support, no longer has a substantial existence, and the whole nature of their government has been forcibly changed, without their consent, from a restricted federative republic, composed of sovereign states, to a consolidated central military despotism, in which every interest is disregarded but that of the army and the priesthood, both the eternal enemies of civil liberty, the everready minions of power, and the usual instruments of tyrants.
The more ...the more they remain the same
Oops! You’re right! I forgot the timeline. I knew Brooks was defeated by Stockman and then Lampson took over. Too bad Stockman was incompetent but THAT, I could tell right off the bat.
Brady was across the street from the courthouse and had time after his townhall, so a local took him over to tour our courthouse. They walked into the commissioners' courtroom and there sat the judge and commissioners having an illegal meeting...all Democrats.
Our commissioners are semi-literate but an improvement over the total illiterates we've had in the past. I guess.
People here tend to vote for personality and people they know. Therefore, we have really sorry municipal and county government. We have ignorant "Good ole boys."
In the past they could get away with incompetence but in today's economic climate I'm afraid it's going to take its toll. Our city sales taxes are down 13%.
The vomitous leftist Perry, follwed by the even worse leftist KBH (approximately 20 pts behind. Followed likely in single digits, by some crackpot.
A woman told me about "a deal" he tried to involve her son before he was elected to congress. Lampson was some kind of elected official and wanted to use her son's name on an inside deal/info he had on some real estate.
Tower was Repub before it was cool in TX --in the mid-late 50's.
The only runoff is us run off Kay Bailey.
no early 60's. In the 50's he was a professor at Southwestern in Georgetown.
Why do you keep posting the bogus La Raza banner? Can’t you post based on something that is true? La Raza has never backed Medina. Give me a break.
I can post a photoshopped version of that banner with Perry’s picture... that doesn’t make it true.
When you post this fake crap, it ruins your credibility.
I voted today for the lesser of the evils. I still feel dirty doing it.
I thought I was in H.S. --must have been in college.
Her E TX parents were the first Repubs I knew. I was 16 and remember my mother whispering, "They're Republicans." Then the man took my dad to hear RR. My parents were Repubs before it was cool.
I was more interested in who could get their car so we could go get a coke at the drive-in.
Later when I was living in Houston, I was Repub when we met in a phone booth on Westheimer in the Galleria area. The GHW Bushes were at my precinct meetings. I don't remember his title at the time. I think Bill Archer was our congressman.
Those were the fun days!
>> You in Chet Edwards District?
No, thankfully we’re represented by John Carter — one of the best in the House, IMHO.
“Medina hasnt got a chance.”
And that’s a losers mentality. It’s why Patrick Hughes lost in Illinois, and very soon Hayworth and Rubio if this kind of thinking sets in. I wish I lived in Texas to vote for Medina.
“But we have to get the message out to vote STRAIGHT TICKET in November to get the local candidates in office - the judges, commissioners, etc. “
