Obama is wandering the halls of the White House, shaking his fists in the air, and bellowing against the injustice of it all.

I’d buy a Toyota before I’d buy a GM.
I have a Toyota after dumping a POS GM. The Toyota is 10 times the car the GM was in terms of reliability.
Truth be told, I liked the interior, ride, handling, and road manners of the GM better. But the darn thing would break in the driveway. It had to go.

I think a lot of folks are rebelling against Government Motors.
Ford and Toyota sales/profits are up while GM continues to flounder.

A friend of mine grew up near a Chrysler plant, had relatives who worked there and always drove a Chrysler. Met him for a beer the other day and he told me that pigs would fly before he bought another Chrysler or GM product.

I think Toyota acted admirably in stepping up to the plate and taking care of the problem; reminded me of the Tylenol folks way back when the poisonings were taking place...they were all over making Tylenol safe and reliable after that tragedy, and their image was actually improved and they gained market share.
That action and Toyota's immediate and positive response proves that the free market and customer service trumps government control and strongarm tactics by the feds and unions every, single time.
It is also a fiscal vote against government motors and the union that owns them.
Americans should solemly vow to NOT buy any vehicles produced by a union factory...I'll be the first to sign the pledge.
Welcome back Toyota, don't let the bastards wear you down.

I drive a Subaru Outback, four-wheel drive. Great car in snow country, but it tends to rust underneath. Next car might be a Toyota or Honda.
I have no problems with people buying either a Toyota or a Ford truck, but I wouldn’t touch GM with a 10-foot pole.

We have owned GM vehicles exclusively for almost 15 years. For the most part they have been reliable. We bought a used Lexus back in July. So far, it has been great. Normally, I would have balked at the idea of buying “foreign” before the bailouts and the Gov’t takeover, but I do not feel any allegiance toward GM anymore. I feel many across the nation are in the same boat as I am.
Personally, I have thought for a few years now that GM should get out of the car business and focus and build SUV’s and trucks only. Those are fine vehicles and actually turn a profit on sales.

Chrysler’s new partner Fiat is having serious problems.
To: FrankR
The “problem” is that there is no mechanical connection between the pedal and the fuel injectors...
It’s fly by wire......no throttle cable...

Seems the majority smell something fishy with Toyota being grilled by “board members” of Government Motors on Capital Hill.

Had a Fiat back in the late 60’s when I was in Europe. Always rode with ‘’fear of God’’ as we tooled around. Dumped it for a Gangster wagon(Citroen) which was even more death defying and finally settled for the bug. Fiat always reminded me of the mob.

GM should get out of the car business and focus and build SUVs and trucks only And one acronym that stops this good advice:
CAFE. Corporate AVERAGE Fuel Economy.
If they took your advice and didn't build any high mileage cars, they couldn't meet these standards.
