Debra Medina, new star of America's right, is firing up the race for Texas governor
The Observer ^ | 2-28-10 | Paul Harris

Lytle is a blink-and-you'll-miss-it kind of town, one of hundreds that dot the vast flat ranchlands of southern Texas. A smear of houses by the main highway between San Antonio and Laredo. Population: 2,383. The first streets only got paved here in the years after the second world war. A sewage system took a little longer, not being built until the 1960s. In short, Lytle, Texas, has never been big enough to have much impact on the politics of the Lone Star state. And few Texas politicians have ever paid much attention to it.

We get it. You are as big a nutbar as Medina. From the sound of it you’re a Paultard as well.

Medina has heavy support from all the tea parties around North Texas.

Not quite correct.

Medina has heavy support from all the Paultards trying to hijack the tea parties around North Texas.

I know that calling people Paultards is fun (not to mention childish). I’ve done it too. Trying to marginalize people with different opinions than your own is effective but dishonest.

However, the fact is that McKinney is a very “Republican” conservative city and it is not a hotbed of libertarian activity. People here just want Constitutional government and they think she is a champion of that. Most people I’ve talked to don’t buy the truther stuff, but apparently many Freepers do.

Sorry,

Apparently you are one of those hard core Paulinist/Medina supporters.

Was not speaking to you specifically, just her hardcore cult following.

With that said, she’s no less a question mark than Obama was during his campaign.

She’s in a political pickle because she knows her supporters include high concentrations of “truthers”.

She would sooner placate her fringe base, then elevate herself above this crazy conspiracy crap. This equates to horribly bad judgement and as such, deserves to take a plunge in the state polls.

Sorry - she seemed interesting at first, but will not be getting this Texan’s vote.

Lastly, Medina has no lock on issues involving Cap and Trade or other issues involving state sovereignty. She might look good against leftist democrats, but will not gain any further traction on these issues in the primary that she is pretending to run as a Republican in.

Sorry, but Paultards are just that. Paultards.

You don't buy it because you don't want to buy it, Paultard.

The question was NOT do you agree with questioning government. She was asked if the government was INVOLVED. Here is the actual question and her clear answer.

GLENN: Right. Here’s then let me be more frank and ask you the question: Do you believe the government was any way INVOLVED with the bringing down of the World Trade Centers on 9/11?

MEDINA: I don’t, I don’t have all of the evidence there, Glenn. So I don’t I’m not in a place, I have not been out publicly questioning that. I think some very good questions have been raised in that regard. There are some very good arguments, and I think the American people have not seen all of the evidence there. So I’ve not taken a position on that.

GLENN: I think the people of America might think that might be a yes.

MEDINA: Well.....

Try to spin WHAT she said, not what you THOUGHT she said.

I don't listen to Beck. Medina has struck out on this issue more than once.

Give it up, she shot herself in the foot, and all your lame-a@@ed apologetics cannot undo the damage she did to herself.

Reading this thread makes one understand why Washington is so messed up. I'm not a Medina fan, but all she said was she didn't have the facts and it needs to be investigated. That doesn't make her a “truther” Isn't fact finding what you should do when you don't know? Being estranged from her parents isn't negative to her character, in fact the reason she IS says positive things about her character. The line of communication goes both ways. We don't know, we weren't there. We should start by looking at the woman's accomplishments.

"You do know what a truther is don’t you?"

A "truther" is a person that wants truthful answers to honest questions. A "truther" is a person that believes in the "truth."

I also understand that there are those that are trying to revamp the meaning of the word "truth" and turn it into a nasty word by adding the 'er and assigning the revised word to people they don't like. People that actually have the intestinal fortitude to question a corrupt government's spin and propaganda but I'm having none of that. The truth is a good thing and people seeking the "truth" are good people. I personally am tired of people hijacking the English language in order to create confusion and anarchy. Gay used to mean "having or showing a merry, lively mood". Now it means the person that calls themselves "gay" are perverts. The rainbow was a symbol given by God to remind us of His covenant and promise that He would never destroy the Earth with water again yet those same perverts that call themselves "gay" hijacked that too and have now adopted it as a symbol of their perversion. Heck... It's gotten so bad that now people don't even know what the word "is" means.

In theater and in movies it used to be the guy dressed in white was the good guy and the guy dressed in black the bad. It used to be that the blue states belonged to true blue conservatives and the red states belonged to those that held to communist/liberal views. Both have been hijacked and flipped around. Now the good guys are always dressed in black and the Red states refer to those states that are true blue conservatives.
The democratic party used to be known as the democrat party but they didn't like the fact that everyone called them radical left wing communists/socialist/liberals so in order to try to change everyone perception of them, and rather than change their behavior they changed their name and now call them the democratic party. We all know there isn't a democratic bone in their bodies but that doesn't stop those evil sobs from hijacking the word and trying to corrupt it.

God is quoted in the book of Isaiah as saying, "Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!" (Isaiah 5:20)

If you don't like Medina fine. If you think she is a liar fine. Say so and prove it but please stop corrupting the English language.

It seems you’re saying that the events of United 93 do not tell you what was happening on the other planes.

Surely .. hearing the tapes from the passengers on United 93, there is absolutely no mistake as to who was at the controls, and who stopped this aircraft from hitting either the capital building or the WH.

Then, we have the suicide tapes from the terrorists themselves.

Then, we have KSM (in GITMO) who has already confessed to being the mastermind of the attack.

These are facts you deny as being reality.

I submit that if this was a govt conspiracy (as you claim) .. KSM would have been shot the moment they found him.

This is very sad to see a person can be so deceived.

Not apologizing at all... just reporting on what the overall sentiment is in the Tea Parties in my area. Your free to your opinion, but you look like a fool calling people names to advance you opinion.

A "truther" is a person that wants truthful answers to honest questions. A "truther" is a person that believes in the "truth."

Since you are fervently trying to rewrite the long-accepted definition of a Truther, I'll ask you the same question Medina was asked - do you believe there was any involvement by the government in 9/11?

Restore Sovereignty: The U.S. Constitution not only protects citizens’ freedoms in the Bill of Rights, it also divides power between the federal and state governments and ultimately reserves final authority for the people themselves. Texas must stop the over reaching federal government and nullify federal mandates in agriculture, energy, education, healthcare, industry, and any other areas D.C. is not granted authority by the Constitution.

Now we can’t have a candidate mouthing off about freedom like this. It’s borderline sedition. OK, how do we silence her? Easy, we demonize her. Label her a kook. Better yet, label her as a truther. Yea, that’ll do it. Beck would help us out on this one. He loves this kind of stuff.
