Oh my, I live here in Madison County and hadn’t heard about it. I’ve been tuned to Fox and the tsunami warning for Hawaii since my sister & BIL are leaving for Maui next week.
Given the incident at Luke AFB earlier this week, this seems a bit more than just coincidental.
Very interesting. Thanks for posting.
My first thought also.
I know the gate over near Jordan road has the barricades where you have to “weave” through them but I think, although it has been a few years since I have been through the other gate, it didn’t have such a set up.
Driver was probably DWI.
I was at McClellan when the MP School was still there, but I’m not at all familiar with the layout at Redstone. As another poster suggested, a late Friday night crash may just be somebody who never made it home from the bar...and I’d like to think this is completely unrelated to the Luke AFB incident, but it almost seems like a deliberate probing of the access ways to some of our stateside installations.
Could be a drunk driver. Hope to hear more soon. Just a week or so ago we had around 9 or 10 at night, near there, a car going the wrong direction on I-565. You would figure it would be a drunk but kind of early but I guess that could be anytime anywhere, turns out it was an elderly person who was quite confused. Meds? Alzheimers? Not sure, didn’t hear anymore about it, thankfully no one was hurt or killed.
Seems we can’t stay out of the news lately, usually quiet here. Middle school shooting and death, UAH shooting and multiple deaths and now this.
Sudden acceleration?
Sudden acceleration? Congress needs to investigate this!
Remember what NCIS Spcial Agent Gibb’s says; ‘There’s no such thing as a coincidence.’
LOL...George Noory had been saying that for years before NCIS ;-)
I know just updated to something the ‘younger crowd’ would recognize.
Hey....I still consider myself part of the younger crowd!
under 60???
Yeah...that younger crowd :-)
I agree. It could be coincidence but it could also be that someone's probing.
What was the incident at Luke AFB? I googled to find information, but there was nothing there.
Isn’t Gate 9 the one right off I565, the one Rideout Road goes into? If so, that is not a hard one to enter accidentally. I’ve missed the exit coming off I565 a time or too, gotten in the wrong lane and ended up at the gate.
Of course, this was in the ‘80s and the road could have been changed by now. I don’t recollect that I crashed my car into the gate because of the error.
